I think the hitch will be either that he wants to be assured that he will either

    a) Receive money from Newcastle if they retain their Premiership status

    or

    b) Receive money from QPR if we attain Premiership status

Either way, I'm hopeful he will sign.

Or C) His agent has told him Cardiff & Leeds are interested and to hold his horses?

I fear C could be the correct answer...

Hmm I doubt option c is the case, he already has a house in London and is already good mates with many of the QPR lads as well as the fact that we are best placed for promotion.

I wouldnt be at all surprised to hear tomorrow or early next week that the Routledge deal is off, something is going on, i dont care what anyone says, we are only meant to be loaning him for chrsit sake.
Also, and i have changed my mind about this but id hate to think Warnock had his targets (possibly Townsend), but Paladini stepped in and said ' i can get you Routledge' so Warnock puts his faith in GP and we end up with no-one.
I really feel this is the most crucial period for the club in years, we could either go up and enjoy the benfits of playing in the top flight or screw it right up because of interfearance and lose Warnoick and our dreams. We seem to be the only club hanging around, someone is not doing their job properly no matter how much Pete or whoever tries to pretend everything is in hand.
Maybe im overreacting but im beginning to fear the worst

Pardew, who is expected to give the go-ahead for Wayne Routledge to join QPR if he finds a replacement, has learned Smith will be lucky to play again inside two months and, more realistically, he thinks the midfielder will not be back again until pre-season.

Could Newcastle still be holding on to him?

IF he finds a replacement. That seems to be our answer.

My thoughts exactly, needed to be said.Every other club in contention taking on reinforcements without all the problems QPR seem to attract.

i think 'pardew has agreed to let routledge leave for qpr on laon' means hes allowing him to leave on loan.
regardless of their other injury problems.

Just wondering if the hitch could be linked to Tarbs?

As we all know, the RW deal is for loan til end of season, and if promoted a permanent signing. So it could be the details and agreement of the permanent bit in the summer. Discussions re RW + 3mill swop for AT end of season have been speculated, we've all seen them, and this is could be dangerous if agreed to because effectively, Tarbs would be working his 5 months notice and would play as such, so his form would suffer? Could be totally wrong, its just a thought and possible reason for the delay.

thats the only other reason i can see the delay, i mean we all know neil wants him and pardews quoted as saying hes let him join us, so thats it isnt it, done.
so its routledge kicking and screaming not to come or its adels wages and contract for when he goes to them in part ex in the summer.
there can be no other explanation imo, cos loans dont have problems like this with so much time left still to go in the window.

It's got nothing to do with Adel, Warnock has been quoted as saying its a personal issue between WR and NUFC.

So lets stop all this Taarabt BS because he isn't part of this deal.

I dont think Tarbs would commit himself to Newcastle as he would have many options available when that time comes

Think its more of the case Routledge is playing up probably not wanting to come back
