another thing he could bring to us for a few months is hulse and helguson (and miller) might be able to learn a thing or two from the master poacher by training with him. (id even keep him on as striker coach when he does hang up his boots)
that wouldnt do us any harm for the future either if any of the three are going to be our subs in the prem.

      I'm amazed.... Really am

I honestly thought you knew your football.

Phillips is a good catch for a club like Palace and maybe us 3 years ago, not when you are top of the championship.

long term phillps would be lucky to play next year because he is OLD
miller young could come here and do well (thats a thought?) and could very well end up signing him becasue he is YOUNG

moving away from this debate i would much prefer to see good young players coming in rather then old experinced ones lets look longer then 6 months down the line shall we?

If it was about young potential players, we would have gone in for 'Charlie Austin'.

QPR want a quick fix to take us up, Miller is not the answer.

All about ability and young potential. I'm glad Warnock can see that as many on here, would rather a has been who is nearing his 40th birthday

if we are going to argue over first team games, how many did Taarabt play for Tottenham?
Taraabt doesn't have a history of serious injuries. Miller has.

In two games time Shaun Derry will have played more minutes this season than Ismael Miller will have done in the whole of his championship career which spans 3 seasons.

In 2003/04 - 37 year old Teddy Sheringham scored 9 Premiership goals at one every 247 minutes.

In 2005/06 - 39 year old Teddy Sheringham scored 6 Premiership goals at one every 245 minutes.

Shall I mention Paul Furling or do you want to continue the age debate?

I never bigged up Hulse when he joined, though think he will come good.Personally i think we have bought a wrong 'un and will not come good.

With Miller (yes keeping him fit is a priority), but he has raw ability and unlike most big men, pace to go with it. Times better than Ageymang. Can see him being Agyemnag part 2.Pace and power but not enough goals, the thing we are severely lacking from our strikers.

              Just my opinion of course

Many "type" players like Phillips around, just you forgetting what Warnock wants. Never known him to have small strikers, in fact he'd probably play someone like Antonio German over Phillips.

Not because he is better, its because of the style he plays. if Taarabt got injured (got forbid) then I can see the case for a Phillips type player, until then many of you are barking up the wrong tree.

As for writing players before they join, many do that only to get eggs on faces a little later on.

Not only stupid, but a pretty ignorant one.

We have players like Miller. We don't have a finisher. This is fact.

And on the point of us not needing Phillips because we're top...WOW!!!

                  Ishmail Miller is the answer?

                  Words escape me.

                      Exactly.

And they want to do it as cheap as possible.

I also love the way that when we spoke on the phone, you were as bemused as me, yet on here, we've now found Miller to be our saviour.

Yes Peter...they are watching, so don't risk letting them know the truth in case they brand you an unbeliever.

Don't disagree with that, though someone like Phillips would not be expensive, as he is nearly 40 and coming to end of this career.

he just doesn't fit Warnocks style.

I have been championing Miller for over a year now as a good potential signing, but there's no way you can spin away the fact that he's struggled terribly for 2 years now with knee injuries and subsequent pulls and strains.

RDM has made it public that he is carrying a hamstring injury and when we sign him we will have to manage that, in the same way we did last year with Steven Reid.

He may come in and score vital goals for us, but there's no way he'll be a starter IMO, strictly a 20 minute sub to run at defenders especially with his injury.....try and get 90 minutes out of him and he will soon pull up.

For a player to bring on with 20 minutes left, IMO Phillips is the better option. His record speaks for itself at this level, and I read him in an interview saying he feels as fit as ever.

IF Miller was physically fit but just needing game sharpness then he'd be a great signing IMO, but the irrefutable fact is that he is not at this present time.

A cheap player who can almost guarantee you goals????

                              Who wouldn't want him?
