Totally agree , wonder what will happen when Miller breaks down again in 2 or 3 weeks time ?
Not a time to take a big gamble on someone who isn't even fit yet !!!

i aint moaning about miller pete, need to see him play for us before anyone can do that.
but id love to see phillips here as well. i wish we had someone good at marketing who could just get rid of all that dead wood walking around and recoup a bit of money back from their wages, so we could pay the likes of miller and phillips without it being financial suicide.

Miller started 4 games last season for WBA.
        Out of 46.

After all, it's all about starting games... isn't it?!

He's injured.... that's all people are concerned about, not his abilty.
Even as we type this (clearly pointless) thread, he's injured.

How? He played 15 matches last season and scored just 2 goals.

4 starts & 11 as sub. Totally just 519 minutes which is less than 6 whole matches.

miller is power and pace if or when fit
phillips is a natural finisher, something we havnt been remotely close to since andy thompsons wonder season.
            we need a finisher simples

              Where did you hear that?

Trained yesterday even by De Matteos admission after getting hamstring injury 8th January V reading.

Unless you know something De Matteo or Warnock does not know?

no he is not but i would rather take him on and see what he can do for us, as i said before has he played for us yet? give the kid a chance and if you knew your football you would know he is nothing like hh or hulse so i dont know what angle your coming from there.
pacey, strong and much better on the deck than them

                    Sirpie

All about ability and young potential. I'm glad Warnock can see that as many on here, would rather a has been who is nearing his 40th birthday

if we are going to argue over first team games, how many did Taarabt play for Tottenham?

To me Miller is another Agyemang.Big and quick but not prolific enough.Phillips scores for fun at this level and i know where i would invest my money.Don't need to play 90 mins every game, can come on for 45 mins or a hour if needed.

Wow one training session. So you'd have liked Matthew Rose back after one training session? How many has Cook had and still struggled to make the first team. How many has Buzsaky had or going to have before he returns.

I'll put my hand well and truly up if he proves me wrong but I think he'll be worse than Marcus Bent.

Many on here had written of the likes of Derry, Hill, Kenny and Mackie before they even joined, so nothing much changes

Pete, you rarely do yourself any favours with knowledge of football, and ways of arguing your points with valid cases.

Once again, this is not the way.

Let's be completely honest, you hardly know a thing about Miller, other than he had potential when at Man City (although I have serious doubts you were aware of him back then!), and once scored a decent number of goals at this level. Since then, he's not really filled potential. Adding to that, he's more than likely spent more of his very short career injured than Phillips has in a very long and successful one.

With all due respect to Miller, who I hope gets back to the level he showed a few years back, he's never, ever going to be as prolific as Phillips. This of course is not factual due to not being able to see into the future, but it is my honest opinion.

Now, as always, I trust Warnock's judgement, but this signing concerns me a lot. A player who's not really a goal scorer, and one who is not only similar to what we already have, but who will probably play less games for us this season than Lee Cook.

Kevin Phillips is a completely different player, and one who I feel would add more to us as a squad. He's a player who you could bring on to win the game. A player who even at his age could play a massive part in out season. A clinical finisher who I still feel has kept himself fit enough to play far more games than you'd like to believe.

Not possible? Dean Windass could put you right, and he was a belter.

Players like Phillips don't lose it.

                              Next.

I never bigged up Hulse when he joined, though think he will come good.

With Miller (yes keeping him fit is a priority), but he has raw ability and unlike most big men, pace to go with it. Times better than Ageymang.

                                Just my opinion of course
