We need to be clear. If as is being claimed Warno is happy with Hulse/ Helguson to start and wants a striker as an impact sub then Phillips would be ideal. If he wants a striker to start over 90 minutes then it seems strange to drop both of our own two main strikers for one with a worse scoring record and a frankly laughable fitness record.

Not a great difference but Phillips' ability off the bench is something that this squad lacks. Plus he's fit whereas Miller isn't.

I'd rather throw on Phillips for the last 10 minutes then pay the physio overtime to look after Miller.

Seeing as though NW takes off AT every game maybe Philips coming on with RH or HH and going to traditional 442 for the last 15-20 mins would be a good option

Exactly.

Ok, it wont happen. But It would be a very useful option... for instance at Burnley last week.
We just went like-for-like, and the game drifted on to a draw.

So of his 264 career league goals he has never scored a header?

Maybe we are only pumping the ball into the air because there isn't an alternative? We didn't start the season playing like this so there is no reason we can't return to playing the ball on the ground.

The important ingredient missing is that Phillips is fit and Miller isn't. Phillips scores goals, has experience and gives us an alternative off the bench whereas Miller will sit on the bench - the physio's bench.
