But what is it about us and strikers? Yes I realise they r expensive and clubs r reluctant to let good ones go but with all the money that has been spent over the last two years was it really impossible to sign one out and out striker who cd a) score goals and b) stay fit?

Even if miller is not seriously injured and is back in training next wk I fail to see how a player who hasn't played a full match in 18 months can contribute anything to our promotion drive. Look at hulse, he was out for just a couple of months and still doesn't look properly match fit (unless he has just become v v slow).

Like most others I have enormous faith in warno but am really struggling to understand this one - unless wba are paying his wages and we r bringing in someone else in addition, but even that doesn't make too much sense. V v bewildered...
I agree but NW only wants Miller as a replacement for Dave, he appears to be happy to alternate HH and Hulse depending who is fit. So a half fit Miller is a good replacement for Dave as he was only ever half fit!

QPR and strikers have never been the same since Ferdinand left. Ok we've had Furlong who did great eventually but what happened to the QPR who always had two great strikers leading the attack? Goddard & Allen, Stainrod & Bannister, Givens & Bowles, Gallen & Dichio, Ferdinand & Sinton ( Sinton was a winger I know) but you get the picture

You cannot fault NW but his team formation and tactics doesn't allow for an out and out srtiker, goal hanger, someone who can score form 3 yards. So I guess we aren't gonna get a Phillips, Austin etc
22nd February away v Charlton is the 40th Anniversary of my support of QPR and my first game. Away v Chelsea 3-3 23rd Feb 1974. 40 years of pure magic!!

Link to Woodgate (and probs only for 1 month) whose actually played less than Miller in the last 3 years and the attitude is remarkably different.
      Two major differences.

First, Woodgate has in his time been regarded as one of the world's finest players. With all due respect to miller, he hasn't.

Second, we only need a defender as cover - we already have the best centre back pairing in the league. We have been crying out for one fit striker who can score goals for two years.

So don't really see your point.

I agree 100% that Woodgate was a class act - a very long time ago. Dan Shittu (whilst not in the class of Woody) was also a very decent player but 50% on here say that would be a disaster because he is past his best - no more or less so than Woodgate.

Your second point - the majority opinion is that Miller is in for Aggy = cover in the same way you allude to the defender.

The problem here is that most of us want a 1st choice striker whereas it appears NW is merely looking for cover up front as well.

My point - with respect to all involved - is that they are all crocks with a pathetic number of minutes on the pitch in the last few years - they should all be treated with the same caution and risk element for obvious reasons.

Is it his goalscoring record or his history of injuries that makes you believe that?

Blue: with Woodgate it was apparently decided the injury risk was too great, so why should that not be the case with the striker where surely the position is even more desperate? And that's the case even if we are looking at a striker as a sub btw because time and time again in recent weeks we have looked to change it round the last 10/ 15 minutes and have been reduced to bringing on Leon Clarke, who is never going to change a game - as I think we all agree.

But I also don't buy the line that he is just a replacement for Agyman. Even if that was the case, is that because Warnock is genuinely entirely happy with alternating Hulse/ Helguson, or because he doesn't have the funds to do differently? And as you may have seen on another thread Di Mateo makes clear that Miller will go out on loan to play "week in and week out" which implies he will be getting a lot more game time than Agyman.

Think this risks alienating two of our own strikers - Helguson and Hulse - who will rightly feel aggrieved being dropped for a loan striker who is arguably no better than either and possibly (given his scoring record, let alone his injury record) considerably worse.

Its about having a bench that can change the game if needed

It doesn't make sense, surely you buy players that are fit so they can replace the ones that are injured, what is the sense in buying another unfit player, do they just want companionship rather than the championship
