Pascal Chimbonda to be reunited with Paul Jewell at Ipswich after turning down QPR move

Pascal Chimbonda is set to be reunited with his old boss Paul Jewell at Ipswich after he pulled out of a £500,000 move to QPR.

The 31-year-old Blackburn defender has been training on his own after manager Steve Kean stood by a decision made by his predecessor Sam Allardyce that Chimbonda has no future at Ewood Park.

A move to QPR was in place but shelved at the last minute when Jewell made his interest known.

It seems obvious that Warnock has given him the once over and decided against it, which is positive news as at least he isn't having players forced upon him. however saying that I would like to see us add some pace to the fullback position.

Seems to be waiting for a pay off from Rovers apparently...

PASCAL Chimbonda's move to QPR has been delayed by a pay-off dispute with Blackburn Rovers.

We exclusively revealed last week that Rangers had lined up a cut-price deal for the right-back, who is prepared to take a 75 per cent drop in wages to make the switch to Loftus Road.

Chimbonda is set to be released by the Premier League club – but the former Tottenham player is haggling over a pay-off deal from Ewood Park, and is not expected to be ready in time for Rangers to play Coventry City at home on Sunday.
