  • What Simon Grayson thinks of us

I happened to have a few beers and a couple of bottles of wine at a function the other night and was sat next to a die hard Leeds fan who gets to speak to Grayson on a fairly regular basis and did so after their game against us.

When asked who he thought the main challengers were for automatic his view was we don't have the legs for it and will fade away. Very confident on Leeds prospects. Feels the extra time in League One has allowed them to build a good solid team that will do well in this league and he has the backing of his board. Sees main challengers as being Bardiff.

Nothing revolutionary there but interesting to hear his views. Wonder whether those views would change with our being strengthened by Moen and possibly Routledge, Shittu and Miller. Add to that the possibilities of others like Woodgate and O'Hara think the overall squad strength would have been increased significantly.

      Leeds habitual failures.

His opinion carries as much weight as a lump of jelly.

see im not convinced that leeds have it to hold on.

personally i have same thought about cardiff.

i see our challengers being watford and swansea.

watford are running through everybody atm and swansea have dyer, sinclair and pratley.
Soldier: "im on reconnaissance sir.. im looking for our camouflage expert.. have you seen him?"
        Lovejoy: "No?!"
Soldier: "GOD DAMNIT THAT GUYS GOOD!"

dislike Leeds FC. If and I suppose its a big IF he says/thinks this then he is deluded. Leeds only just scraped into CCC last year after nearly blowing a massive lead.

I see Watford and Notts Forest as our main rivals, with teams like Cardiff, Swansea,Leeds, Leicester as more likely to finish lower in the play-off places. You never know with us. It would not surprise me greatly if we finished as champions (although if Adel gets crocked for the season next game can't see that happening). Also it would not greatly surprise me if we finished 7th. This is QPR, after all.

I once had a beer with David Preece and Mick Harford after an away game with Luton and Preece told me '' your Paul Parker is toilet and will never play for England in a million years'......oh the benefits of hindsight !!!!!

Although both went out of the cup last night it was good that both Leicester and Cardiff both had tough games, with Cardiff going to extra time. It's a long old season and hopefully we will still be top at the end of it.

Grayson, if he actually made those comments, has a point. At times we can look very ordinary, that's why Warnock wants to get in up to 4 players to improve the team. If he can get the right players in, then we will be all the better for it.

The guy I spoke to I think his company is somehow involved with Leeds and as he is a big fan he tends to be at the forefront of it and gets to talk to Simon Grayson. Have met the guy a few times and had dealings with his firm. No reason for him to lie about Grayson's comments. He didn't say anything particularly surprising after all.

Leeds to me have a solid enough team but the division is there for the taking. My own view is same as others. I expect Forest and Leicester to be strong. Also Leeds although I don't think they will be anything other than solid. Grayson is also reported as saying he expects Middlesborough to be good in the second half of the season although they are way too far behind to do much.

Bardiff always fall away and with Bellamy's recent problems they hadly need to keep hold of Bothroyd. If they do and Bellamy remains focused they could keep it up. Watford don't have a strong enough overall squad and in my view either do Swansea.

Being totally objective on us would say great goalie, solid enough defence albeit bit light on numbers, fantastic midfield and superb strike force if you have a passion for donkey sanctuaries! If we could just get that elusive goal scorer in addition to Miller we would have a real opportunity this season. Can't see next season being this easy, easy in relative terms anyway.

as a rule i dont believe anyone who tells me what someone else thinks or has said.
                          always ends in tears.
from the horses mouth or i just ignore it.
once had an arsenal fan tell me that he met george graham in the toilets of ladbrokes in weymouth and he told him sol campbell was an iron.
