Mackie every time.Routledge has had enough clubs to have really shone somewhere by now but he always seems to start well then fades away, dont think he will be a great addition and would rather see Ephraim back in the fold myself.Routledge has already shown he cant cut it in the Premiership so why do we want him ?
Can see him ending up scraping the lower reaches of the Championship or League One before long.

if i was a fullback which i was.. id be more worried about mackie.

ability in air, constant pressure etc.. routledge has skill but the way i dealt with skillful players was by not letting both the ball and the player get past me.
Soldier: "im on reconnaissance sir.. im looking for our camouflage expert.. have you seen him?"
      Lovejoy: "No?!"

So not so much a defender then Gax as an enforcer or as some would put it a bit of a hatchet

at a young age i wasnt too bad.. then got lazy.. and also willing to play any position.. bit of a jack of all trades (in footballing terms), im really a ball playing centrehalf.. and pace has left me! so i have no choice but to make the foul!

I'd pick Routlegde to start. Mackie in the last 20mins if we're losing.
Same as Smith over PVM on the left.
Queens Park Rangers, simply the best.

Having watched the team at Burnley closely on saturday, I'd say Mackie would be more effective at home, Routledge away.

I honestly think we'd have stretched Burnley to breaking point if Routledge had played, and won. We broke away on countless occasions, but lacked any pace.
But not sure it would have been any different if Mackie had played.

At home, Mackie is a "pressure player", and keeps us on the front foot with his tempo and workrate.

One thing is certain though... when Faurlin was taken off at Burnley, we had to bring on Leon Clarke to play on the right in place of PVM who slotted into the centre well.
That option just wasn't good enough, and Warnock has mentioned it a few times since.

For me the biggest issue centres around Tarrabt and can we afford to have another 100% attack minded player in the team who doesn't defend or track runners. I think you can get away with 1, but Smith, Mackie, Ephraim, Faurlin and Derry are all central to Tarrabt's good form.
Agree with this. Will be very interesting to see how Warnock accommodates Taarabt and Routledge in the same team.

Can there be a team that has such a poor list of strikers as us?

                        Can't believe I forgot;

Mackie every time.work rate, goals, aerial ability, strength, never say die attitude, enthusiasm, more goals and a good attitude.

Ask yourself this would Routledge be able to play fullback as Mackie
did when Orr got sent off,you know the answer.

This is noit to say Routledge is not a good addition. If it turns out
is with us for rest of the season,he has to show similar qualities to
Mackies if he wants to stay for next season if we are in the Prem.

As i have said on another thread if Miller comes and is given the chance
and avoids injury and finds his form Routledge will be seriously
threatened by him for a starting place as miller can play wide or down
                              the middle.

Dextor scored goals what ever you say about him, 14 in his last season and was sub for long periods, Sinclair? Are you having a laugh he was never a striker!
