However much we don't like the current board if Flavio & Bernie are to walk our club is in danger.

Now that Flavio has a taste in football he could well go and buy another football club and leave QPR.

The chances of watching he's new team get to the top are quite high and we get left behind or worse, how would we feel then?

Given the amount of money Briatore has watched seep out of this football club, the odds on him going back into another English club would be slim, to none. If Flavio and Bernie can't just walk either, despite their posturing. They may well like to "sell" but they've too much tied up in the club and by splitting the ownership of the ground and land to "walk".

Flavio will continue to run the place in his image and Bernie will be disinterested in his true Dr Manhattan style. Our only chance to move forward in the medium term would be for Amit to lead a buy out, and given the complicated structure of ground/club ownership, can't see that either. :very_sad:

I do honestly feel that FB and BE are now a millstone, aside their sponsorship contacts, rather than a force for good. The sooner they sell, the better IMO.

i do agree, with q block pete,i would not imagine the mittals would stay if
            flav left
i think they are here enjoying the ride but the thought of running a football club would scare them to death

if flav goes so will bernie and the mittals

giannies only hope of keeping us together as a team would be lose the ground play at brentford and sell buzsacky ,vine ,rutledge etc

i dont even know whether bill power would still want to come into the club
            but maybe he would

i would rather keep flavio and co and carry on the four year plan

This is the Full Article though, makes a bit better reading

QPR co-owner Flavio Briatore has ruled out big-money signings – and warned that Manchester City are heading for The Championship.

The Italian businessman, best known for his association with Benetton and the Renault F1 team, took over Championship side QPR in 2007 along with F1 chief Bernie Ecclestone.

The duo cleared the club’s debts but, although there is now financial stability at Loftus Road, they remain seven points off the play-offs and promotion now appears unlikely this season.

However, Briatore insists that there will be no major cash injection for new players – and says reckless spending could be the downfall of clubs like City.

“If [supporters] give me hassle then I will walk away,” he told the Daily Express.

“We will not be spending money. No, no.

“The billionaires and millionaires are business people. They are not going to throw away their money.

“Money is not the answer. Manchester City is a very good example. They will be lucky to stay in The Premier League.

“They are like some in F1 – people who have an astronomical budget and can’t win a race.”

The duo had previously been linked to a takeover at Chelsea, but Briatore insists he is happy that the deal did not happen.

“I don’t wish I had invested in Chelsea – that would be worse,” he said.

“Football is a very expensive hobby. The bigger you are, the investment is more and the risk is bigger.”

Briatore has been accused of interfering in first-team affairs at QPR but, while he admits that he does have a say in matters, he says he does not select players and fully supports boss Paulo Sousa.

“Let’s get this absolutely straight: I do not pick the team but I have an opinion on things because we invested a lot of money,” he said.

“This is our money and we want to be informed about what is going on. It is our investment.

“If the result is good, nobody puts their nose in.”

                    He added: “We support Paulo.

“In the last two or three months, I am not happy with results and the coach knows that, but we have had a lot of injuries to key players.”

lets just get rid of the people who saved us doing a luton.
cracking idea. no relegation fears for the 1st time in years and things looking up and we still moan. no pleasing some people.

he has no money in this club compared to bernie and mittal though

if i can remember correctley inthe sunday times rich list last year it was

                        Mittal £27billion
                        Bernie £2.4billion
                        Flavio £149million

                        big difference if he leaves?

I think we can win this both ways.

We don't renew if we don't think its worth the money, as its seeming in 90% of the current ST holders.

What I disagree with is mass protests etc, that's what could cause trouble that ultimately affects US the fans. After all this is a business/bit of fun to them all (I include Mittals in that statement & yes I know you can't make any money in footy anymore but you try telling Flavio!!!)

See ya, Flabio, and don't let the door bang your fat #### on the way out.

On second thoughts, don't worry too much about the door.

I can't see that as a bad thing. It seems to me that unlike Mr. Britiore, the Mittels look on QPR a bit more as a football club and less as purely an "investment". I have a nagging hunch that Flav will tire of this (dabbling in team ownership) and head off to "greener pastures" before long. Where we go from there, who knows, but it should be interesting, as it always is with the R's.
Lonesome is being an R's fan on the prairies Always QPR!
