would be nice to get a top striker like Austin, to complete the jigsaw. With Routledge and Shittu apparently signing, we have a very good squad, and I think most of us would be extremely confident of promotion if only we had a striker to complete it. Such a good side, but if the ball doesnt go in the back of the net, we dont win games. Lets hope a decent striker or 2 also signs this week - then i see no reason why wee cant go up, in fact win the league

          Transfer Request handed in by.......

          CHARLIE AUSTIN

          :O

Swindon Town striker Charlie Austin has handed in a transfer request, BBC Wiltshire understands.
The League One side confirmed last week that they had received enquiries about Austin from several Championship clubs.
The 21-year-old, who has scored 17 goals for the Robins this season, was reported to be disappointed that offers for him had been turned down.
Austin rose to prominence at Swindon after signing from non-league side Poole Town in October 2009.
In his first season at the County Ground he scored 20 goals and agreed a new two-and-a-half-year deal in February 2010.
He was part of the Swindon side that played in last season's League One play-off final at Wembley against Millwall - who are one of the clubs reported to be interested in signing him - which they lost 1-0.
Swindon Town and Austin have so far refused to comment on reports that he wants to move on.

COME ON YOU SUPERRRR!! There is always hope.....

we will not sign a regular first team player from anyone.. they might cost a few quid. particularly if its a striker and particularly one that has interest from other clubs.

Which makes you wonder about the Waters transfer, which was half of the Austin fee,of course we should buy but we won't

Southampton or Reading will get him, prob for 1-1.5 mill
In 2 years he could be worth same, or be another Andy Carroll worth 20mill.
