As for the board meeting tomoorow I honestly don;t think we will here any news as to the content or the outcome of the discussions which are due to take place .
Nor would I read too much into the fact that the meeting is taking place.
I would think that funds, targets , budgets etc were spoken about prior to the start of the season . I would imagine the board said to NW something along the lines of we will support you in the summer (which they did) and we will see where we are in the New Year as to what our next stratergy of investment in the playing side is going to be . NW has stated for a long time that he would look at the position after the Burnley game and that time has now come.
As for comments made by Bernie re; not bothered by promotion etc.
We are talking about one of the most successful men in sport who doesn;t do failure . He has recently INCREASED his stake in the club !! He has not done this to increase his stake in the 8.5% interest on the outstanding loan nor has he done it to increase his stake in any potential property deal .
The global economy is up sh't street and no matter what property you own or purchase in London at the moment its safe to say that it will be worth the same OR maybe less in value for the next 5 years .
HOWEVER one way of making a huge financial killing is to invest in a club , let that club get to the threshold of the Prem promise land and then INCREASE your stake ,release a few quid (be it in loan wages or perms) to push the team over the line and then collect .
Like him or loathe him the man is a genius when it comes to playing sport/money games.
Sit back and enjoy the ride !!
