Remember how we used to abuse Furlong, and then he turned into a near legend. Im not saying Hulse will get near legend status but give him a bit of time. Warnock knows what he is doing. :sorry:

Someone made a good point on here last night - there isnt a single player in the team that has escaped criticism this season on here, and yet look at the position we are in the table, and look how far we've come in the short time since Warnock took over.
Youre right of course - back Warnock, back all the players that HE picks and lets show some real support.

OK, question.
What age does a footballer peak, on average? I know it varies, but as an average.
I'm gonna say, 25- 27, some may disagree, but at this age you're young enough to be quick and sharp, but also possess a good few years experience.
Its also at this age when you realise your top value. Are you a good average striker within the division, or someone exceptional, or the potential to be exceptional, and so valued much higher.
Hulse is 32. He has peaked, maybe he could get to that peak again, but at 32?
If he was going to be an exceptional striker, he would have done it by now, and would have reached a value of more than the 750k that we paid. The point is, if you spend 750k on a 32 year old, thats exactly what you get, he isn't going to significantly improve, but he might give experience and solidity.
A young player aged 18-22 of a similar value gives you something else. The potential to improve as he becomes more experienced, and possibly become exceptional, and more valuable. Hulse isn't going to do that at 32.
I beleive we should invest in a young striker with potential, like Austin, Ecclestone, etc, rather than older 'has beens'. But good luck to the guy, hope it works and he proves me wrong.

A strikers game is all about confidence, I mean look at Torres, on of the worlds finest strikers, but watching him at the moment you would think he plays for the dog & duck in Divions 27 of Sunday football.
Hulse needs a couple of goals to get going, BUT can we and do we have the time to wait for these goals to come?@chrisrobson9

Hulse didnt have much support from Adel.let alone much attacking midfied players. This does make him stick out.Walker is a massive miss. As our back two dont attack and support like he did.Someting to do with legs and speed!. Warnock came with a 0-0 game plan it worked.not pretty to watch and thank god they never scored. Must say if we loose Adel through injury our attacking play would be even worse. The sunshine summer is away.Roll up your sleeves and battle its the only way to get points up North. I can only recall Blackpool away and the Langley hatrick when that last happened...
