    davidmcintyre76 David McIntyre:

Warnock to meet with the owners on Monday. Wants 3-4 players. Two strikers and one, possibly two defenders.

Surely a transfer kitty would/should already be in place and it would be down to NW to work within it, ie fees paid, wages. Monday will be the 17th, so hopefully some negotiation with wanted players and agents will have already taken place. Where is that fingers crossed emoticon?

Well that would indeed make sense.

However, it is easier for some to blame the board already (mid Jan), complain about the lack of signing every player that has moved clubs because they didn't come to us, suggest that Warnock would even entertain the thought of moving to West Ham (that's the really funny one) and assume that he is at loggerheads with the owners, despite the fact that he has only ever been complmentary about them.

The usual case of over reacting it seems. Surely the only significant thing that may have changed over recent weeks is that Jamie Mackie is now out for the remainder of the season. This will need addressing, but it only happened 5 days ago for goodness sake.

I look forward to publicly holding my hands up in apology when :

We do not sign a recognised "good" striker

Warnock leaves a team heading for promotion

We do not go up as Champions, which we should and will as we are the best side in this league by some distance when on our game.

Any chance of someone starting a thread that mentions how well we are doing compared with the expectations of some? Perhaps one that contains the gripes about signings such as Mackie, Derry and Hill. I could be wrong, but didn't see too much "hailing" of the manager when they turned up.

I'm sure some thought we would be mid table this year, others saying top six at best with the right investment.

Perhaps it might lift the doom and gloom if some could concentrate on the positives while the likes of Santa Cruz and Wrigt-Phillips go elsewhere.

I don't think this is about transfer fees or targets at all , i think this is about Warnock trying to change the mind of the board and Bernie and trying hard to buy one or two players.

Good luck to him, he's gonna need it after all he tries where others have failed.

QPR boss Warnock to discuss transfer options

QPR manager Neil Warnock is due meet with the club's owners on Monday to discuss possible signings.

Warnock wants two strikers and at least one defender in the wake of injuries to Jamie Mackie and Patrick Agyemang, and the end of Kyle Walker's loan spell.

Rangers' Bernie Ecclestone-led board have spent heavily since taking over at Loftus Road in August 2007.

But they have indicated they do not want to spend on transfers or loan fees between now and the end of the season.

Not knocking it but the Fulham Chronicle says "targets in place waiting the OK". It is the doubts about getting that "OK" that has me spooked and remains the worry. If anyone can confirm the "OK" is a done deal/formality then happy days. Till then we have a manager going in to bat for resource and sending out signals he is not hopeful it will actually be forthcoming

I fairness Warnock has said from the start that he has been supported during his time here. It is now up to him to convince the owners that now is not the time to withdraw their support. The same would go for Alex Ferguson, I'm sure of that.
