  • Should Footballers Use twitter???

    A simple Yes or No?

Bearing in mind the recent revelations from Bradley Orr and paddy kenny?

Is it sensible? or does it fuel the fire of fans?

Yes, but Last weekendīs rant was maybe a bit over the top. But I have to say that "The Diouf incident" did deserve those brutal remarks well and truly.

On the other hand, in general, I think itīs now time to question the brutality, cheatinglike and abusive development both within and outside the field .
Because Last night I spotted a comment on here which suggested that the fans in general now more and more are getting fed up with football.
Speaking for myself I Have to say I fully support such an observation.
Hence, If the players who use twitter uses it with some sense I dont think it is a problem. But If they use it to venter pure aggression on a regular basis after having not been picked for the team, slating the ref etc, i think we have a problem and the clubs and FA in general should monitor the situation concerning the use of it.
But as you know, we have 2011 now, so it is also a question of free speech and all that. But I would still be very much concerned if Neil Warnoch did open HIS account as well.LOL.

Its pathetic trying to stop professional footballers from using twitter to air there views

If they get abusive or threatening then there club or FA can reprimand them but dont shut off there freedom to air there views

The latest incident with Babel putting up a pic of the ref in a Man u strip is a joke to treat so seriously

        Yes
        Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
        And many more mistakes

Should they be allowed to go out?

Should they be allowed to fart?

Should they be allowed to have children?

          Should I really give a s**t?

tbh it gives fans better chance to understand whats going on in the world of a footballer.

however because each footballer is under media spotlight it creates problems for the players airing their views on things.

what orr or kenny said about diouf is is a downgrade to what warnock said infront of a camera.

the banter on twitter friday night pre-blackburn, between kenny, derry, hill and orr was hilarious and showed fans that footballers are just like us. up for a laugh.

what they say is no different from what we say on here or to a friend in a pub.. but difference is they get done for saying it. you cant say "PLAYERNAME had a shocker" or even "REF had a shocker in that one was never a pen!"

            imo the worlds gone mad.

in better news RE:twitter... vines returned and has come back with a better attitude and by his own accounts is doing well in training and even getting a game for the ressies. which is something u wanna hear if we dont have the dollar to sign somebody. maybe vines understood his effort before wasnt good enough..
Soldier: "im on reconnaissance sir.. im looking for our camouflage expert.. have you seen him?"
            Lovejoy: "No?!"
Soldier: "GOD DAMNIT THAT GUYS GOOD!"

Of course. We are supposed to live in a democracy so everyone (including footballers) should have freedom of speech.

QPR stars face FA probe over Twitter blasts

BRADLEY Orr and Paddy Kenny could face an FA probe over comments made about El-Hadji Diouf on Twitter.

The QPR pair vented their anger on the social networking site following alleged abuse made by the Blackburn Rovers star to Jamie Mackie while he lay on the floor with a broken leg in Saturday's FA Cup tie at Ewood Park.

Im sure the players have got more serious issues to worry about

                    Agreed.

You can't ban them from giving interviews, using facebook or having an opinion so why ban them from using Twitter?

If twitter hadn't of existed are people honestly going to say that the players wouldn't have said what they said? If they wanted the world to know what they thought of EHD they would just have found another medium to do so.
