well if you know better than top sports surgeons, than fair play to you.

Always a better indication on length of recovery time, if no surgery needed

i know better than the one who was reading on here going mad cos we were all saying its deffo serious by the way the player reacted.

if he comes back fully fit from a double leg break in anything less than nine months ill eat my whole kit on the halfway line at half time.

What they are saying is the bones in Mackie's leg are not displaced (i.e. straight) and as such he will not require any surgery. If no surgery is required then obviously you would expect his recovery time to be much less than it would have been with surgery and metal plates put into the leg.

i know what hes saying, but it still wont be much less than 9 months if anything less imo.
                      which is a massive shame

Great news if the initial diagnosis is confirmed but hope no corners are cut like some say they may have been with vine - better to have him back fully recovered several months later than have a player back who is never quite right again (eg remember Kevin Gallen after his serious injury)

did Benni Mcarthy lose the same bet?

Feel for Jamie now. Knew a big injury would occur from a Cup game. Diouf is an absolute **** for his reaction.

Time he gets match fit and ready to play again it will be a while. Prob wont be the same player again either, will 100% bottle 50/50's in the future because of the thought of doing it again.
