Not unduly concerned Ric, to be honest.

Walker is a very good player, shame he's gone, but Orr was perfectly acceptable to us in an unbeaten side before Walker came in.

Pat hadn't really been given the opportunities to play that much so no loss in that respect.

Very sad news about Mackie and feel really sorry for him more than anything else.

I'm more concerned about other things that NW seems to do. Such as subbing Taraabt every game, giving players a debut at 2-1 up with only a few minutes to go, playing Clarke, playing Hulse, not using games like todays to give Lee Cook match time etc etc.

Difficult to complain too much, sitting top of the table and five points clear. But it could and in my opinion should, be more. If for no other reason than we are so much better than what we have been showing in the last month.

Is Hall injured? Goddard says Mahon and Rowlands are injured too.

If so our bench is looking like: Cerny, Borrowdale, Tofas, Clarke, Cook and Andrade

Its a squad game and that is a poor bench!

Sir pie-Very worrying in my book.

Lose class & don't replace it you are only going in one direction....and it aint heading towards the stars.

I'm worried, unless we get a full back, center half, Left winger and a striker i dont think we'll win it

The board will now have to show us what ambition they have. Before this week I thought we needed 2 or 3 in, now we definately need at least that.

Quite worried but with the transfer window now open its in our hands to sort things out

Not quite as worried as I would have been, having seen today potentially how good VaagMo is, and Andrade, who ran the Blackburn defence ragged.
Still concerned about lack of firepower, but would give Smith a go up top, and we do need more defensive cover.
Faurlin is my hero!!! Love him!!! #########

yes, worried and good post - too many people get criticised when we analyse the squad whilst in a good league position.......I trust NW, but there are a lot fo good teams in this division.

Ask me after Burnley. I think that the Mackie Injury will reall fire up the rest of the players.

Seems about 7 out of 10 fans are genuinely worried about our season.

                        I'm one of them.

Sorry but disagree here. Until Orr got injured we won 8 and drew 2 out of the first 10 games. I don't even see him as replacing Walker, it was more the other way round. Be honest as much as we all liked Walker's forward runs his final ball/delivery left a lot to be desired and on three or four occasions left us terribly exposed at the back. (why could he not finish off a run for us like he did yesterday for Villa?)

Mackie is a loss of course but not the be all and end all. Peter Moon will be a better replacement in my opinion. He has more experience in playing at our level. Remember this is Mackie's first season at this level and a lot on here and other boards have been questioning his 'headless chicken act'. Swanleyhoop posted on another thread that Mackie's actions leading up to the tackle was an example of this, and that the ball was not there to be won and not a 50:50 ball.

Cook is returning and we have Ephriam who along with PVM are all good , if not better, replacements for Mackie. Take off the rose coloured specs. Remember Mackie's contribution has been lacking recently. Buzz will back within four weeks, Connolly is back after suspension, so all in all we are in a great position.

IMHO I think the board will back NW in getting in another forward/striking midfield player and a defender. I expect the defender to be a loan and the other permanent. Wait til after the Burnley game, don't expect a panic buy this week before Burnely. We have Hulse and HH who we know can do a job.

My team for next game would be:

                          Kenny
                          Orr Gorrks Connolly Hill
                          PVM Faurlin Derry Tarbs Smith
                          HH

                          Bench:
Cerney, Borrowdale, Ephriam, Clarke, Cook, Tofas, Hulse

                          So really not so bad?

if the owners dont dig deep to help secure promtion now i believe it will be the beggining of the end of our 'dreams'........failure to back nw will show a real dis-intetrest in the clubs long term future!
