  • Very gullible to believe what Warnock says? You lot are into some dark art of Warnockism. When EVER has warnock said he is not interested in a player and / or will not be buying them and then bought them? When has he ever said we won't spend and then spent. HE IS TELLING IT LIKE IT IS FFS, HE IS SAYING THE BOARD HAVE NOT RELEASED FUNDS.

Somehow this would mean I am gullible for believing what he says and you lot are savvy for knowing better. (Can I have a twot/mug emoticon to insert here please)

Afraid I think your right. He is simply saying it as it is. No games there.

The value to the board of gaining promotion to the Premier League in TV money, prize money, increased value of their shares/increased value of the players etc must be £50M-£100M plus. Against this a continuing loss of £5-£10M a year from staying in the Championship.

The board are extremely successful businessmen and have massive egos. Nobody likes looking a mug, and you would look a mug if you pi$sed £5M-£10M a year into an unsuccessful football club you had bought with the sole intent of getting it promoted.

In F1 Ecclestone is a very shrewd operator and if it suits his purpose he will say one thing and do the complete opposite. Watch what he does, not what he says. He recently bought a controlling interest in QPR.

Our current bookie odds for gaining promotion are 3/1 on. So around three chances in every four of going up, they say.

Put all this together and you would have to be very gullible to believe a newspaper article that implied that NW will not get the resources he asks for this transfer window.

Maybe for £5M, on a 1/3 chance, the owners stand to win £50M-£100M. It is punt. Nothing in football is ever certain, but for them it is a punt at massively advantageous odds. To not back the manager and snatch defeat from the jaws of victory would be too silly for words, so it won't happen.

        Well said mate.

I am astonished at the constant ctriticism of the board/owners. It's as if they have not and will not spend anything.

I might be wrong here but suspect that I'm not. I cannot believe that any previous set of owners have ever bankrolled the club to the extent that these people have over the last few years. Not saying they haven't made mistakes, but spending money has not been one of their failings. Can anybody honestly tell me that they are aware of any previous QPR squad with a wage bill coming remotely close to what this lot get?

We've seen many items of footage over the last few years, with players expresing their delight at the way things have improved behind the scenes.

They will deserve as much credit as anyone, when we are promoted this season. I suspect some will give them none at all and others very grudgingly.

Wasn't that long ago we were watching us playing Luton in this division. Personally, I'm happy that we are not in their position. They are a team who have been let down by the owners, not one that's 5 points clear heading for the Premiership.

Doesn't imply it it quotes him as saying so. How you goi from the fact of what is being said to the supposition that "well they aren't silly enough to spunk it" is what has me gobsmacked.

            • Maybe they are all Lib Dems and now think that whatever their side says (absolutely no VAT rise/No student fee rise for example) it means the exact opposite. Otherwise It am thinking "on the payroll" or "not very bright" as only rational reasons for the blinkers being on. Or they think Warnock is a liar? Has me puzzled why they thibk he would (no selling club would pay any heed to it after all!)

              • This board have spent a lot of money, they have spent a lot of it very badly for all different reasons, too many managers, gp and Flavio sticking noses in to team affairs weve been through stupid amounts of players, for the first time in years the club has onfield stability and belief. United have proved by winning 3 out of 4 premierships and 2 champions league finals that you can be successfull on the pitch despite major friction and fan protests behind the scenes.

I'm not sticking up for the board or slating them but I will be gutted if they don't show ambition in the next 3 weeks as despite every penny they have spent it would be foolish with the worth they have not to push to the max.

I can't imagine Amit and Bernie don't see it like that, it will be interesting to See NWs body language over the next few weeks. Our entrance money doesn't come close to running this club anymore and we don't have divine right, but will we ever have a better chance to make the step up probably not.

I certainly wouldnt take warnocks article as an indicator though, but purely my opinion

                • stanley that's a bit niave, you don't think Nw has told a few porkies?
If we go out and buy a couple of players he'll say that after readressing it with the board they made some funds available, no big deal.

                    • Warnock is clearly quoted.

I don't think anyone needs any more clarification than that.

It's there. In black and white. From the man himself.
