In true WATRB tradition, much of gun-jumping and hip-shooting on this thread.

The only thing I agree with so far is the next three weeks will be very interesting, and quite possibly one of the most important periods in our history.

Lets actually analyse what NW is saying - getting 2 or 3 good quality loans in this Jan is strategically not necessarily a bad thing, irrespective of whether the funds are available to BUY players or not. Also to say that NO funds are available is of course untrue because loaning players costs money too, depending on how much of their wages we'd be paying.

    Just my 2 centavos.

    As ever, YMMV.

When asked if he dreams of promotion to the Premier League for the club, quick as a flash, he replies: “I hope not. That's just even more aggravation.”

“People are either passionate enough to get into it or else they want to massage their ego,” he adds, although then insists he does not fall into either camp. “Football commercially is a disaster and is going to be in trouble until they start sorting out the costs. Look at most of the clubs in the Championship. They're all in trouble financially.”

focused owner bristling with ambition and intent??
or is he also playing the media/paper made it all up ?
This is what we lack at QPR

We need owners with a passion for the club

I see the young Mittals at the ground sometimes but the main guys have got little interest as fans if we win or lose

When you look at some of the top clubs the owners are actual fans of the club and want to win games and pump money into it even when sometimes it can come as a loss in profits

When you think about it why would these owners throw money away into a club to get players when even if we did get into the Prem they will still make little money compared to what they do as there main incomes

QPR to them is probably just another one of there pet projects as they cant make major money and they do not have an interest in the club as fans to succeed and win

But I think fans are heartily sick of all these "over the rainbow" promises eg "if we are top six by Christmas the board will get the chequebook out then" etc.

I'm still baffled by the question I have asked many times before and have never received an answer to: "What are the board in it for?" I don't buy the line that their aim is to skim the profit when we get into the Premier League - with increased wages etc there won't be any profits, that is what many people fail to understand. Man Utd is the only Premiership club to run at a profit -fact. So what IS the board's game? Its just a guess but I don't think they have one, they are just bumbling along, treating the club as a bit of a vanity project, a hobby - and that Bernie etc prob doesn't give the club much thought from one day to the next.
Problem is that we are a small club and now with Bernie in charge I can see us moving in the right direction, I feel another 1 to 2 years before we see change. Main thing with Bernie in charge is that he's No. 1 goal will be to get us stable, not buy's or gold door knobs.

I think he will bring in he's own men and get sponsorship/investment going, having 18k stadium will not help us when we go up, how can we compete with paying 40/50k each week to just one player?

Bernie is a man with Power and success, he don't fail so we need to get behind him.

At the end of the day it all comes down to the size of our support, that's why a move is important, then reduce tickets so that everyone can afford it and that's the only way I feel it can be done.

People say Bernie don't care about the club, what makes you think that and why?

Everytime there was not a Grand Prix race on I always see Bernie at LR, he has since taken a larger stake within our club when he didn't have to.

Pretty desperate if warnock has to have an article published asking for financial backing...

Or is he using the media to make out we have no funds to get prices and wages down...

If it's the latter its working a treat, judging by most on here. I expect a few perms together to be announced early next week with a couple of loans.

Neil Warnock is a master at playing the media.

He isn't going to come out and say he has loads of money for players at his disposal and the owners back his every whim is he? Think about it! Neil Warnock and the owners of our football club are some of the most sneaky, underhand and aggressive in sport! And they are in the position they are in for a reason! Just be crateful the people are running the club now are far more savy than any we have had in the past.

Hmm not sure about that being so true in this article.

Firstly, the owners have spent very little on the squad as we all know. Secondly he doesn't have to answer any financial questions and if he does then he doesn't have to say the oweners don't want to spend any money.

I think its time for us fans to open our eyes to the reality that they are never going to properly back a manager with decent funds. Imo just spending 2-3million would greatly help our promotion bid....but quite clearly this is too much for them to dish out.

I love the way you have to be a QPR fan to be in charge.

Its a bit nieve to be honest. We all craved Chris Wright and look what he did

Of course you don't have to be a QPR fan, but a little passion for the club doesn't hurt.

I'm not sure that was quite the most important point arising from the article to pick up on, but maybe the real issues are a bit too difficult to address.

It's other peoples opinions, as you have yours, which too can be construed in many ways, one being nieve and one being the 'voice' of someone else.

End of the day, we are punching above our weight. We have small fan base compared to many teams in the championship. I'm grateful we are top and not near the bottom. I don't see why the owners should be throwing millions at it. We've already proved this season, we have the best team in the championship
