My god this is a sad way to drum up traffic. We have waited for a decent striker since Gallen got injured .. but lets wait and see

So why now are we looking at loaning players?
Are the owners backing Neil?
Is he actually got any money to spend or has he been instructed to loan players?
Loaning players like Owen or Woodgate, you can be sure the only thing interesting the player is himself, not the club he's loaned to. We've seen it with countless deadbeats loaned to us recently, Stephen Reid being a good example. A young player like Walker has Championship experience and bust a gut to prove himself, but that won't always be the case, and certainly isn't what you're looking for to lead the line on his own.
Hulse and Smith came is as permanent signings (albeit Smith wasnt official til Jan), and were perfectly happy to wait for their chance to get into the first XI. Unlikely a loanee will be as patient, and therefore a loanee much more likely to upset the team spirit IMO.

Warnock has targets and we should at least aim to bring 1 or 2 in early, if need be then bring in loans after, sell the rubbish we don't want now to reduce costs.
This club may never get in this position again so therefore do what we have to, to get promoted this time round or it may never happen.

If they don't know they're targets by now then we might as well give up.
Just buy someone decent ffs its only been 15 years since we were in the top flight what's the urgency!!

Thats what you do if you bring a player in, why would anyone come to be sub?
Wouldnt surprise me to find out who has given you that masterful football negotiating technique. Is the guarantee followed by a 4 year contract???

Because we haven't spent in the last 5 years so history tells you we won't spend.
Might as well talk facts before many fans get disappointed.
Oh but we bid 3 million for Walters and bought faurlin for 3.5m, oh yeah I forgot.I played sunday league football today.
Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.
I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.
We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

i disagree totally with that, we have not been in this position before, Bernie, Amit and NW are wise men, and surely know this is our best chance, we also spent a few quid in the summer and I believe we are paying big wages we also lost out on Walters as he opted for the prem, that would have been a big signing, i think we may be looking but not just shouting about it

Pete, to clarify: are you saying there is no budget to BUY anyone, only LOAN?
If so its not a question of whether we SHOULD wait, we HAVE to wait because Premiership Clubs are not going to release a player on loan until they know if they have managed to secure a replacement target.
But if it is about waiting around for loan scraps to fall off the Premiership table we can't dress it up as some kind of shrewd tactical transfer masterstroke - it simply means its the only option available to NW given that the board are not backing him as it was suggested they would this transfer window. And if so many folk on here are wasting their breath talking about Austin, etc. We have to hope that Blackburn loan us a Roberts or Wolves an Ebanks-Blake or WBA a Cox. My hunch is we will get a Prem striker on loan but it will be someone less good, eg Miller.Last edited by stainrodisalegend; 08-01-2011, 11:39 AM.

True about Smith, but he did play in the premiership.
As for Clarke, well no-one sees what Warnock sees in him. Even Mick Jones said Clarke was flying in training, yet when he plays I see a player more concerned on how cold it is

Sorry for not answering all the questions, I had to sleep
Blackmafia you have a point, but we have done that with mackie and Clarke.
as regards to loans, many people are forgetting WE ARE TOP OF THE CHAMPIONSHIP, we just need quality.
I am just saying sometimes we are impatient, hardly any business has been done across the leagues, yet we want every striker avaliable. I presume even on a striker, we only need one?
As for loans over buys, you lot would just **** money up the wall !! We need to consolidate our position, we don't need to buy like Hull City, we are about 14 places above them for starters. Many of you in the past have said we have wasted money, yet want to spend 3-4 million at a drop of a hat.
End of the day we need around 11 wins and a few draws, we don't need to buy the championship, like Chelsea have in the premiership. Its done by hard-work adn good leadership, which we have done so far. We have brought in 10 players, really what more do you want?
Amazingly now we find ourselves top, some want to do the very thing we were against at the start, spend millions
I say bring in quality and if its loans than so be it. Thats my opinion.ALL BEST BANTER AND ALL THE LATEST FROM QPR.

I would hope so.
If a player becomes available at a fee, then I would be gobsmacked if the board didn't support him. Someone like Woodgate seems an ideal loan player thoughALL BEST BANTER AND ALL THE LATEST FROM QPR.

We have no divine right and a lot of our fans have acted like spoilt kids especially pre season, many on here flagging the team and the board before a ball was kicked, I've been very vocal in support for the board have had many arguments with a lot of you on here about it,
Nw has done a top job since last march, but we will never get a better chance I don't think, and there is never a better time to attract player than when you are top.
If we strengthen now and Nw knows the type of players he needs and wants.
If we don't strengthen and miss out is our fault 100 percent.
I have a feeling He will be backed, no inside info just would be stupidity not too loosing Walker is a huge blow,
We can worry about players being able to play in the prem if we get there, Charlie Austin will get 10 goals I think, they could be huge
