Surely Better To Wait On A Striker?

My opinion is based over 46 games and not getting my juices flowing because a certain Austin is currently scoring goals. Some tend to live in the moment, Hulse has proved he is a goalscorer in the past, Mackie went through a purple patch and helguson has surprised us all. No reason as with all strikers, things suddenly click.
Take a look at other strikers around the championship, how many goals has taken Chopra to get on the score sheet? Yet, I bet like last season he will go on a run.
Can be a big mistake buying a player solely on what he is doing now. Its all about what they do over 46 games and over half way through we have done better than anyone expected.
As for buggering it up, we can always be the expert, but Warnock is the manager and he has a great record of getting teams promoted.ALL BEST BANTER AND ALL THE LATEST FROM QPR.

Although we might have a rearranged game against Hull in two weeks time after both sides get knocked out of the FA Cup this weekend. I don't fancy QPR's current defence agaisnt the likes of Simpson, Fryatt and MacLean.
QPR have a poor record at Burnley and not a god one at home to Coventry who will probably just sit back and attack on the break as they have done for the last 5 seasons or so. QPR can easily drop 4-6 points from those that too, So QPR could drop up to 9 points.
QPR might be amongst the top scorers, but QPR goals in the last 6 games are:
1-0-4-2-0-2. Not bad, but not as good as it was a few months ago.
As for the squad I under-estimate, it has now lost the services of the only quick defender it had and the services of Agyemang (for what little that was worth).
Hull have just signed 2 strikers who will frequently score goals at this level but we will wait in hope.

You'd be the first person to have a go if they just spent 10 million and we didn't go up. That would not leave us in a good place, unless of course they just throw money at it?ALL BEST BANTER AND ALL THE LATEST FROM QPR.

I actually agree with your point regarding Austin.
For me scoring goals in league 1 doesn't mean he will be quality for us.
Although its the premiership Beckford has proven that you have to be clinical and he just isn't. Missed plenty of sitters for everton.
My only concern was that your talking like a member of the board.
I don't expect us to spend millions but you don't need to talk about 14k most games etc, we have millionaires on board and if they don't spend for a final push then they are waisting a fantastic opportunity for premiership football.
You say we are a small club but why take us on? Surely it is because we need to grow and that doesn't happen but doing things on the cheap. Warnock has worked miracles he now needs funds. I don't mind 1 loan but that should be max!I played sunday league football today.
Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.
I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.
We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

Cardiff are second, how many loans do they have?
End of the day, you cannot buy a decent striker from the premiership.
If he is any good, he would be the premiership banging in goals at 30k-100k per week or playing in Europe, not in the championship. You have to get a loan on a player who is on the fringes of premiership class.ALL BEST BANTER AND ALL THE LATEST FROM QPR.

My worry is Pete that beginning of the season Neil said we have far to many loan players at the club and we need our own players to fight for the shirt and give blood, sweat and tears.
He also said 1 loan player would be the most he'd want at 1 time.
So why now are we looking at loaning players?
Are the owners backing Neil?
Is he actually got any money to spend or has he been instructed to loan players?I played sunday league football today.

Oh yes, I almost forgot, they get parachute payments.
How has Helguson surprise us?
He has scored twice from open play and 4 from the spot.
Mackie is doing a great impersonation of Agyemang, only with real work rate.
Face it, without Taarabt, QPR would be a top half side. Warnock was saying back in Sept that QPR had a squad that was more like a top 10 outfit than a promotion one.

And i would like us to finish at the top, we wont if we dont get in some decent cover,ie two decent speedy defenders at least.
The pressure will now start to build even more. They seek him here.................

True, but in August 2009, Austin was scoring for fun at Poole in some low non league level and took to League 1 like a duck to water. Whos' tp say he will struggle at this level?
Morison was scoring for fun at Stevenage in the Conference, then joined Millwall and after an initail slow start, couldn't stop scoring and is now scoring in the Championship.
Pitman scored freely for Bournemouth and is looking good at Bristol City now.
QPR's owners can afford to take a gamble on Austin, just as they could have afforded a gamble last season on Hooper or Cox, but chose not to. And we all know how well things turned out last season, don't we?

Agreed Pressure will build, thats where having a top manager helps.
Its just my opinion, that some are panicking, yet we are in Pole Position.
We can win football matches with these group of players. SLow defence?
Seem to remember having our best run even before Kyle Walker came?
Agreed we need 2, but thats about it. The timing has to be right too and if it means waiting, than so be it.ALL BEST BANTER AND ALL THE LATEST FROM QPR.
