That would be the excuse used, but it carries no weight with me
Quality loans can do a job and we have a wage structure, that is really important. Prem players cost upwards of 30k a week, we spend enough as it is.
How many knew that Walker would be a class loan signing??ALL BEST BANTER AND ALL THE LATEST FROM QPR.

Morris, I thoroughly agree with you.
QPR have a great chance to go up, so why hang around?
This time last year, Newcastle had a big lead, but still signed 5 players in January, including Routledge, (Hall loan), Williamson & Best. They didn't hang around and won the title at a stroll.
It is the same owners at QPR as it has been for the last few seasons. Warnock said on TV last week that Flavio is still contributing his ideas on players to sign etc. And we now know that Ecclestone bought up his shares and now owns around 70%.
My guess is that the Mittals were just used as a smoke screen to cover up last season's unrest and BE and FB still control the purse strings and will not go on a spending spree like the one in 2008.
I don't buy into this lets wait until will go up to spend. At this rate, QPR might never get there.

A player might not make much impact in 2 games, it what he does in last 19 games that matters.
Say we go for Austin (hyperthectical) which many are harping on about and someone like Owen, Roberts, Yakubu, Cox, Campbell or Eubanks Blake become available?
And as GTP says, get both, its not like we have class strikers coming out of our ears.

don't get me wrong, i'm in the wait for the right player camp, and i find the hysterical WHY HAVEN'T WE SIGNED ANYONE?! laughable, but if the right player becomes available, we should take him, and Austin would certainly appear to be the right person...RUN, MWEPU, RUN! CHARGE FORTH AND BOOT THAT BALL DOWNFIELD MY BOY, YOU MAGNIFICENT CHAMPION YOU!

Team morale is the most important thing. Players have us top after 25 games, they have done a great job.
Austin is certainly not proven at this level, just because he bangs in a few goals at a lower level.
Players from the premiership is what you need when you are top and they don't come cheap. Failing that you buy the best striker in the championship and we already have him. His name is Adel Taarabt.
Too many focus too much on helguson and Hulse.ALL BEST BANTER AND ALL THE LATEST FROM QPR.

Houghton wasn't going to rest on his laurels and hope that "team spirit" will take his side up.
I guess if we do go up, people will say we have a great team spirit from winning the Championship, so we don't need any new players for the Premier League.

I wouldn't mind waiting if we had a plethora of good strikers we haven't simple as.
Yes its about the right timing but NW surely must know who he wants without having to 'wait to see who becomes available' have you ever thought them said players might NOT become available?

agree with Morris - we are at the top but as Warnock has said time and again (when it suits him mind you) that we do not have sufficient class in reserve - we are top and want to stay there while we don't have to get players in at break neck speed we do need to get them in- it is starting to look at a bit bare in defence and in the true striking role Hulse Helgusson and Mackie are not your 20 goal men. If they aren't prepared to bring people in now they never will.No one pulls my strings 😉
