I hope we start the majority of all of our bench players, including tofas, cerny, german, parker etc... and even let moen start. Too be honest I'd love a win, but I don't see it happening because rovers aren't exactly going to win the prem, and are surely just securing their place for another season, hence they really want to win some silverware and I do expect the majority of their best players to be starting. Whilst, on the other hand, we stand a good chance of winning the championship, and if we were to sustain any injuries through this match, would further cripple our already thin squad. In my eyes, its a friendly

Yes, paddy Kenny had a thoroughly exhausting game last saturday against Bristol City so needs to be rested, and even though he'll be training every other day, he needs a 14 day rest until the next thoroughly exhausting match against Burnley, like the rest of the 1st team.
And as a contrary argument, while I'm at it, it was suggested that we lost the game against Watford due to the previos postponed game against Hull causing a 2 week gap and therefore sharpness was missing. So then we deliberately do the same for different reasons?
The more a team plays together, the more they get to read each others game, anticipating each other, and so this playing of fringe players in the cup is naive and bonkers, it just upsets the balance imo. Fringe players should earn the right to be selected by busting a gut in training to outdo and outperform the current fav player for that position.
