Lost the best full back in the league goddard so we definately need to spend.
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

      Who's saying we don't?
Not me.. not Warnock - nobody is saying that.

But during these windows, all you seem to get is assumimng that players are cr*p, assuming that we're knackered if we don't "spend big", etc...

And most players linked with other clubs are wonderful, and "another one we've missed out on".
      Panic.
The same happened in the summer.

Just wait and see... people must have learned that from the coveniently forgotten rubbish spouted on here during the summer. Surely?

We've got 36 on the books at the moment... (source QPR World - without checking the figure)...... if we strenthen with for arguments sake a striker and a defender were up to 38.

This is all well and good, but what about next season; we're restricted to 25 players... fan and games to come methinks.

Goddard mate, let's face it the summer was not a paradigm of how to do business. I get you are claiming it was but we really ought to be learning lessons from it, not thinking all is hunky dory. Let's recap - We got Mackie early (no one moaned about him as far as I recall bar saying he wasn't enough and we needed more), we got Kenny (all well and good but I think general feeling amongst Rangers was GK was not the priority to be fixed - he has proved some wrong there), Clarke (total shite and remains it), Orr - widely welcomed, then the fiasco that was signing a badly injured Hulse and nearly missing out on another target (Smith) due to *****ing about so long. At the end of the window I think most Rangers were left disappointed and not very hopeful. As it happens we have over performed - Mackie shot to the top of the Division scorers, goals were coming from around the team. Happy days.

So facing this window we are top of the league with the Prem clearly within our grasp. All we have to do in essence is stay in front which is far easier than the task others face trying to catch us. It seems we all agree we need new personnel. We have owners that can bankroll that ( with a pay day for them in the offing). So I think all that is being said is lets do it - Let's not ***** about this time. Get a quality target and bring him in. It really is pretty simple. Warnock is giving out signals that he wants to patch a couple of loans in. I, for one, would not be happy taking that risk and would rather we spent some money to sort out the obvious weaknesses.

Oh no... there was a touch more moaning than that!
When we signed Hill and Derry, for a start.

I'm maybe taking the easy option here by having 100% trust in Warnock, and not getting the usual "transfer window messageboard jitters", based purely on how much we spend. I feel that way because of what I've seen Warnock do over the last 4 months.

Of course...I hope we do spend on quality, and I find it very odd that we don't seem to unlock the coffers... but some of the stuff I'm reading on here this week just makes me wonder if nothing has been learned since august.

I find that far odder than anything the club do.

I would be a fool to deny there was a lot more moaning that I let on earlier. On this messagee board I seem to recall will he/won't he Ambrose threads being every other one till one could care less. And you are right to remind of Hill and Derry as some of the moaning was about Palace seeming to be only place we were looking. There was a lot more moaning going on away from message boards tbh - I think there was a general feeling that the Board would never release funds to get us promoted. Disappointment met resignation as we witnessed some pretty uninspiring market activity (and some bordering on farce)

Warnock's stock is now such that I guess everybody is more confident in him. But that doesn't take away from the fact that we can all see the team needs strengthening yet the lines coming from Warnock suggest he holds that a couple of loans will do. They won't.

                  I don't trust a word he says.
A bit of a contradiction from me on that one!

What I mean is... I trust what he does, but don't believe a word he says.
                  To the media, anyway.

Goddard - I know what you mean and I have more faith that you may be right than I had this time last year. The man is a fricking genius getting us where we are on what was spent. But am still on the Leigshy side of the fence on this. I have this nagging fear we will spunk the tremendous start away through misplaced thriftiness or ego or whatever reason that stops us grabbing this golden chance with both hands.
