  • Defenders the priority

    Orr Connolly Gorkss Hill

Is, at the moment our best back 4. However in reserve all we have is Hall (always injured) and Borrowdale (always sh.it).

Desperatly need a CB in, and maybe a versatile defender who can fill 2 roles, much like Walker did.

Was Orr better when he played for Bristol City?
What´s wrong with him now really?
    I just wonder!

Good shout. We need defenders with some pace.

          He's been good.
No problem with him at all.

Unlucky to be directly compared with Kyle Walker... but 99% of defenders in this league look like a carthorse when compared to him.

I agree, Orr is still solid, just not as talented, but then who else is in this division? Orr has good experience of this division, and has a decent cross. He was also a part of the defence that hadnt conceded a goal for ages at the start of the season, before Walker came in.

We could do a lot worse, just need more pace as he wont beat defenders like Walker did.

No probs just glad someone else agrees with me. There is a desperation for us to sign strikers at the moment but most seem to be forgetting that what is the point of scoring 4 if we have no defenders to stop us from conceding 5?

Strikers won't always score (doesn't matter how good they are) whereas without a proper defence we will concede and will lose games.

Defenders are the priority and anyone who doesn't think so doesn't know a lot about football.

With ACL I'd imagine not until the start of next season. Rowlands was out for a year when he damaged his so I can't see Ramage playing again for us for a while. Even if he did return it will take him a while to get match fit.

Would try and raid Boro for Kilgallon and Wheater. With the position they are i am sure they are gettable.Especially Wheater as his contract ends this summer i believe.

Orr is fine and whilst we are short of cover at the back (in particular in the Derry role ) our deepest and most worrying weakness is up front. Of course it is true that teams are built from the back and all those other cliches. But our back is reasonably solid even with Walker gone. Yet whilst we fire blanks up front (and lose possession cheaply as we do far too often) we are on the back foot and that puts the back 5 under pressure. We need options up front. Now clear Hulse isn't very good. Clarke is not fit for the hoops. Dave is crocked. Heidi is a good enough player (but Warnock obviously has doubts!). Getting Buz back will help. But we need a threat up front that isn't Adel. Attack remains the priority weakness to be fixed imo.
