  • Went to the Emirates last night

for the first time (guest of a Gooner season ticket holder): severe case of stadium envy.

Made me realise that the division between us and Arsenal is massively more than the Premiership/ Championship divide. Over 60,000 fans against our 15,000,the atmosphere, size, infrastructure, facilities, everything really is just so different its almost like another game. Even if we were to go up and the board were to invest steadily I just can't see us ever coming even close to competing with an Arsenal.

Only similarity I found between Arsenal and QPR, funnily enough, was the strength and weaknesses of both sides - Arsenal are like a (much better) version of us in that they stroke it round the park beautifully, but also like us they have absolutely no plan b to score the simple, scrapy goal if the intricate football doesn't work.

I've been a couple of times. It's a superb stadium; the best I've been to. I sat in the nosebleeds last time and the view was still really good.

Cannot wait for an away day there next season if we go up!

aye, it's not a bad stadium is it? - pretty good in the corporate sections as well i tell you - as much salmon as you can shake a very large stick at...

felt that the atmosphere wasn't the best, but i haven't been to a 'marquee' game, so the atmosphere would have been different, obviously...

Been a couple of times and the stadium is fantastic. Was lucky enough to get the full hospitaility treatment a couple of seasons ago at the LC semi v Spuds. The catering and "corporate" experience was superb. I can tell you the atmos was superb (and they really, really hate each other)

The other game I went to v Blackburn when they scored 6 (after being 1-0 down) and if it wasn't for Robinson it would easily have been 10!!
Henry was watching and the place went mad when he came on the pitch to wave!!!!

I am not envious as despite the fact that it is the best stadium in the country it is still not Loftus Road.

Yeah I have heard that is it a fantastic stadium but the fact that they rip there fans off by charging 60quid a ticket is where it must let down the whole experience/atmosphere.

That game last night was shocking and worse than a championship game.
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

I went to watch brasil at the emirates, very nice stadium. Who knows when we go up and do well, we might attract 60,000 plastic glory hunters too.

Just picking up on a couple of comments, I also love Loftus Rd but it just reinforced to me quite how ridiculous it was when Flavio was talking about Champions League football. There has been a revolution in the upper echelons of the Premier League since our relegation in '95 and unless our owners pumped literally hundreds of millions of pounds into the club the most we can hope for, I would suggest, is mid-table of the Premiership (not knocking that btw: still be a fantastic achievement for a club of our size). There is no way we will grow organically to be as big as even an average Premiership club, let alone a top four one.

Maybe all the chelsea fans will come back and support QPR?

Been Emirates a cpl times and it is incredible. Not just the stadium, but the leg room and the fact getting a beer is so easy!!

Also - it maybe a super-stadium, but Wenger had a lot of say and made sure that the turf would get the best air circulatione etc all incorporated into the design. This is where Wembley has failed and although Wembley is even better than the Emirates in terms of stadium magnificicence - you have to say the Emirates is the best football stadium in this country.

Not many in the world match it...a couple in Spain and Bayern's stadium is incredible from what I have read.

That is nowt to do with the stadium. Highbury was very small and was called "The Library". Arsenal fans are all mutes.

I was ther last night too....... with another Rrrr, in the posh seats where you get a free bear at HT; I think it's called Platinum, as guests of a Gooner.

Whilst it's a good stadium, I thought the whole experience was sh*t. I think that last Monday's performace at LR was a more exiting match... there's absolutely no atmosphere whatsoever.... a couple of times the fans strung together an '####, sen, al' - pathetic.

Get this, they play a tape of the crowd singing at the start.

Can't wait for the Rrrs to visit new season, I'm sure that we'll make a big difference to the noise levels!

Sure, the gooners pass the ball well, but boy oh boy do they need to figure out when to try and put a shot in!..... Also, considering the opposition, I thought that City where really poor.
