Austin and Leigertwood in at Reading FC?
By Jonny Fordham
January 05, 2011
Brian McDermott is keen to make on-loan Queens Park Rangers midfielder Mikele Leigertwood a permanent signing.
Leigertwood was Reading’s shining light in their 2-1 win over Burnley on Monday.
And McDermott is keen to thrash out a deal with QPR to keep him at Madejski Stadium until at least the end of the season.
The Antigua international’s loan spell ends on January 25, but Royals are hopeful of extending that until the end of the season or agreeing a cash price for him in the transfer window.

Reading have also made an enquiry about Swindon Town’s Charlie Austin, a former Royals trainee.
The striker has netted 17 times already this season and Robins are reluctant to let him go on the cheap, but Reading look to have been put off by the steep asking price.
