  • Loan players

After last year, loan players leave me a bit cold and nervous, and I think there are 2 types, and as a club we need to be careful.

A young aged early 20's player is a good option. They need experience, haven't peaked yet, and see it as a chance to prove themselves to increase their value and status. Walker is a good example.

Aged 30+ loanees are a problem with me. They are generally on the slide, only motivated by personal fitness, we remember them for how good they were, as opposed to how good they might be now. But they do add experience. Woodgate is a prime example.

Young players like Kieran Gibbs, Daniel Sturridge would be great loanees. (dreaming of course, although DS wants to go out on loan I see)
Beckham, Woodgate, Keane, surely just upset the team balance because they aren't motivated by team and individual progress?

We have had our fair share of the good the bad and the ugly when it comes to loan players at Loftus Road!!!

Lets hope whoever arrives wants to be here and Colin gets the best out of them

i don't think the Warnock factor can be overstated enough - any loan players that we get in will because Warnock wants them and sees a point for them.

he stated pre-season that we had 6 loan players, and he didn't want any of them, and we wouldn't have a repeat of that again.

i think the likes of the Matt Hill and Marcus Bent's arriving ad hoc are well and truly over, and any loans that come in will be to strengthen the team, and not just for numbers...
