  • Austin. QPR or Reading? /merged/

I suppose it has to be noted... got another 2 today for Swindon, away at Charlton.

That's 15 goals in 19 games this season.... and 35 goals in 50 games in total.

Considering Leeds, Norwich and Millwall are last seasons League One teams promoted... it's not a huge leap in class to do the job in this division.

Tony Incenzo said on Danny Kellys Talksport Show tonight that we are in for him... not sure how much he knows, but I'd guess it's a dammed sight more than most on here.

Really does seem the obvious man to go for... and he's 6 foot 2, and only 21 years old.
Looking at about £2m for him, I'd guess. Tops.

    What more do you want??!

Graham went off injured today so maybe not an option now
22nd February away v Charlton is the 40th Anniversary of my support of QPR and my first game. Away v Chelsea 3-3 23rd Feb 1974. 40 years of pure magic!!

Saw 50 odd minutes of him on the live screen in the Smuts after our game. Knowing my luck he turned it on after I left but have to say looked very ordinary. Missed a sitter and someone piped up "all the qualities to be a rangers striker..."

Steve Claridge said Birmingham City had bid 2m for him...

Might this be why we suddenly see no need for a striker, or is that being too cynical?

                        If that's true... forget it.

Yep they have just sold Gary O Conner to Barnsley so guess he fills the void of numbers of strikers they need.

                          More bad news today.

He seems like a level headed lad, does he want first team football, good wages, the prospect of bringing a team to promotion, live in a nice place like london and to be under the great influence of warnock OR be backup for birmingham. Theres always hope.

                              Austin. QPR or Reading?

He wants to stay down south, so rules out Celtic.
                              Comes from Newbury/Hungerford area.
Hull and Cardiff have played their hands with 2 new strikers each
Can only increase in value, 20 yrs old going in the right direction.
We can give him 5 mths in the Championship, and if he does the biz, then the prem which is a good gradual transition unlike the Beckford flop.

Yet to be convinced that we have the required ambition to snap these up for the future, but we are being mentioned. maybe Agyemang in p/x?
