But I firmly believe we have players capable of taking up the mantle albeit in a different way and style of play. At the moment Adel stands out, but then so has Buzz in the past and I think Smith has a lot more to offer.

Losing Adel may mean reverting to 4-4-2 which may suit us as well as the current system
You make a valid & fair point soton but he is the best player in the league on form & ability to lose him would be awful. As I say the stats don't lie 12 goals, how many pens has he won, how many goals has he set up, how many chances does he create each game? We need this kid every single match.

Like you say though others may have to step up. I just don't wanna see it at the moment he brings to much to the table.

I don't want to see it either, but get frustrated when NW takes him off every game. Today he should have stayed on, as like you say, every time he gets the ball we(he!) looks like doing something.

I would like to see him come on as a second half sub and let him loose on an unexpecting defence.
22nd February away v Charlton is the 40th Anniversary of my support of QPR and my first game. Away v Chelsea 3-3 23rd Feb 1974. 40 years of pure magic!!

Think he only gets taken off to protect & spare him once the game is won which I presume after 86 mins NW thought we had done today.

Agree at 86 mins we should have held on. Interesting to read others thoughts on Smith in the Buzacky thread just started.

Just seen Austin on Footy League Show, the boys a natural finisher, desperately need another option who's not the HH/Hulse type big man, just a proper goalscorer

Claridge said Birmingham have put a bid of £2m in for him.

I guess that is it then on that front.

maybe the players are waiting for a better deal, that's why they have agents.
