Neil Warnock has launched a bid to sign Leicester’s £3million striker Martyn Waghorn on loan.

QPR boss Warnock wants to end Waghorn’s frustration at the Foxes and lure him to Loftus Road.
Former Sunderland striker Waghorn was signed by Paulo Sousa in the summer after a successful loan spell last season.

But the 20-year-old has fallen out of the picture since the arrival of Sven Goran Eriksson, making only five starts under the Swede.

And Warnock is ready to pounce and offer Waghorn the chance to play a part in Rangers” promotion challenge.

He said: “If someone comes available and we think is going to be better than what we’ve got or will give us an extra chance to take that step up then we’ll go for it and I’ll speak to the directors.

“I think it may be a case of getting a few loan players in. We’re all in the same boat in the Championship - we don’t want to spend too much money until everyone knows where you are.

`We’ve got to look at who becomes available.’

Rangers moved seven points clear at the top of the Championship after their win at Coventry on Tuesday - but Warnock still wants more firepower.

Took his goal well against us at LR last season...

and looked quite a tasty player from memory... If we're building for the future as we no doubt need to as and when we get into the Premmo then I'd like us to sign another Waghorn too... the one at Charlton as I think he's got a very bright future.. never a bad thing to have a couple of wags about the place.....

        £3m?

        No thanks.

£500k plus Rowlie. Decent squad option. Won't improve starting XI

Played in the right position, upfront, he is quality. Played on the left, like he did at the Walkers against us, useless.

On loan definitely, good lively player who gets at defenders.

Dunno who evaluated him though. Knock £2m off.

I rare him very highly, yes please
                Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
                And many more mistakes

LES FERDINAND, IT'S TIME TO GO

Definitely not worth £3m. Some moaned at that price for Chops, who is a far better finisher. Granted, Waghorn is younger, but one good season doesn't make him proven at this level.

Good, pacey player. Exactly what we need. Tore us apart at LR last season.

15 goals in 60 games for Leicester (one every four games) not that great, perhaps Sven knows something we don't.

I'd take him as squad player (replacing Agyemang) for no more than £750k.

£3m ? Someone is ####ing our chain. I bet the Leicester fans can't believe their luck.

think he looked good on the rare occasions ive seen him. Would prefer Cox and Austin though tbh

Not good enough for Leicester and can't get a game ahead of Vassell........
