Are they direct trains or do you have to take a replacement bus service part of the way?

I think you'll find that from Liv St there will be an interupted service with a bus replacement along the way - expect a 3 hour journey and of course possible overhead line/leaves on line/stolen track to add to the frustration...

Kings Cross - Ely - Norwich goes straight there.

Think it's East Midlands for the trip into Norwich from Ely.

There is no direct trains, you have to change. Its Norwich to ely and the then ely to london kings cross.
