What I mean is, for instance... I would rather loan in Simon Cox, than buy Rory Fallon. Random example, I know!

We cant buy a Prem player, and put him on a 3 year deal @ £20k per week, while we're still a second division club.
    And we are.

The loan of Kyle Walker show that NW can get loan players to run through brick walls for the club... you wouldn't guess he was on loan.

Take Ben Watson for example... if we got him on loan in january (I doubt it) then he would give 200% for NW.... but he didn't under the 3 managers he played under for QPR last season.
Just got fed up with the whole circus we were.

No problem with loans... as long as Warnock chooses them. That's the key difference here.
That wasn't the case last season with prats like Nigel Quashie and Stephen Reid, etc...

And loans aren't "free", or cheap.

I Think its a little Kidology, NW knows we Need Pace, he was the 1st one to say last year when he came that we had too many loan signings. We Need a cover for a couple of places.

I dont have problems with loans in January however I am still waiting to see ambition from our owners. There would be no problem if we were to spend say 3 million on Chopra bearing in mind he would fit in well in the premiership. Why would you loan Cox when you could buy Chorpa (who in my opinion is much better than cox). To me it always seems like the 'next transfer window' will be the one we spend in. With our backing we have spent the absolute bare minimum and as I said in my other post, it will be interesting to see their mentality when we get to the premiership because then we will need to spend to stay up. I'm yet to see anything to suggest they will.

But for now, who cares....we're top of the league!

I'll be honest here... I think people are obsessed with how much we spend.
          Fans, media, the lot.

All that matters is results on the pitch, and where we end up in may.
Loans, buys or freebies... doesn't matter. You can't buy team spirit and the biggest signing we've made is the trappy Yorkshireman on the sidelines.

Look at M'Boro.... count the £spending£, divide by our points, and subtract the first number you thought of. Then half it.
          Then double it.
          Then add 38.

I've completely lost the plot now.

I personally find this a little worrying. The club has its best chance to go up and they don't want to spend any money and are instead forcing Neil into the loan market. Crazy imo!

Whats it gonna be like when/if we get to the premiership?! You can't survive on cheap players/frees/loans. Sooner or later its going to have to click that they will need to spend some money on some quality players.
You miss the "at this stage" bit!!.....He implies that he could spend if he needed to.

We got here through the squad we've got. How will new signings reflect on the excellence of the players who have got us here

What difference does it make if we own them or not?
it does to Warnock - said so in the Summer. Hope he's not weakening and becoming another owners puppet.

Clarke and Agyemang need replacing with real quality.

A centre mid and centre half would be perfect in addition to walker on loan.

I would much rather we follow Blackpool's approach who have not spent significant sums, retained over half of the promotion winning team, and are easily holding their own in the premier league.

The ideas that "our backers" are obliged to flash the cash just because they are rich is not realistic. This is a business that needs to pay for itself. Hence efforts should be focused on increasing revenue etc.

Good point about Walters - but we signed Hulse after that deal fell through?

                    Business:

1)Smith to be signed on perm contract
2)Walker on extended loan but negotiate an option to buy in summer
3)Shift high earners off pay roll that are not required
4)AOB which fits our strategic goals (good young players that become available), and that are within budget

But Blackpool only adopted that approach once they (luckily) went up. You can afford to pick and choose your approach once you're up. We appear to be gambling that we will go up, yet it's only December. Why not make sure we do then consider the next move?

I think the board is loooking at what this team has done so far - half the season gone.
7 point clear of 3rd place.
Second highest scoring team - fewest goal against.
Bench not bad - Cerny, Orr, Rowlands, Hulse; Agyemang, Clarke, Tofas
Then there are Ephraim, Hall, Ramage and Buzacky
These players should do it even without Walker

January is best left for when a team is in real need, to cover for injury for example. Or if you have a massive hole in the 1st team or squad.

Prices are way too high and the player will have to then fit into the squad. I don't agree that it is a "FACT" that players will not gel, but it is something of an unknown when you don't have a shared pre-season with team mates.

We are top and I am starting to beleive now.....if we go up it's about what we spend in summer...

I think we need two more in January. A centre back and a centre forward.

Agree with Nodge. Though we can wait till at februrary for a loan player if we have to, no rush

End of the day when you bring in new players you invariably have to practically gurantee them first team football, they are not going to sign for a team where they are going to be sub, having been sub at there original club.

There is the dilema and why Warnock won't upset the applecart and I don't blame him. These group of players have got 47 Points from 23 games, do that again we will be champions and these players have got us here so far, no reason to expect they cannot do it for the rest of the season.

There is a tendency on here to go on about our short-comings but if we are reduced to saying stuff like "our reserve left back isn't very good" then we are probably being a bit spoilt. We know about our limitations because we are obsessed with our club but what strength in depth do, say, Coventry or Norwich have? Probably a lot less than us. One decent striker and I would be very happy with our squad.
