  • The Old Club Shop

Anyone remember the old Club Shop we use to have on South Africa Rd about 30 years ago?

From memory it was just basically a concrete box painted white with an indoor and an out door and a few things hung up on the wall behind the counter

What I was wondering though is was it further along the road by the Jack Tizard School or was it on the same site as now?

I am pretty sure it was just past the ground

I think it was slightly further along, by the entrance of the old school terrace. Pretty sure the shop moved to its current site when the school end was redeveloped. Could well be wrong though, it was over 30 years ago!

Anyone remember the old club shop in the Ellerslie Road stand where the big refreshment bar currently is? Got my first ever adidas QPR shirt there in 1978 for my 8th birthday! Also spent far too much time and money at the old programme shop under R block!

Yeah your right it was an empty shop with just a counter with items hung up and on shelves.....was it glass fronted counter?.spent many boring hours sat in stock room waiting for us to take our seats for game.......i do remember they had another room at back that the base of the floodlight went down into,it was packed with old programes....some really old ones...this was mid 80's.

Remember both the club shop and programme shop in the Ellerslie Road Nodge ....also got my first adidas shirt from there ....the fella that ran the programme shop also had a stall halfway between Fulham Broadway and the Bridge on Chelsea home games when we were away if my memory is correct.

Spot on Nodge, it was much smaller than it is now.

Im sure your right about the glass fronted counter as that was where the badges and patches for our demim jackets were kept and the shirts were hanging on hooks behind the counter
