  • setting our sights higher in january transfer window

we should be looking at prem players in january not players like auston le fondre and another swindon centre back, surely we could pull of a coup like cardiff and get robbie keane on loan and poaching players like kris commons and robert huth we have financial muscle and to guarentee promotion we need to use it in january.

All depends how ambitious the board is. We are all desperate for promotion but if it doesn't happen I don't think Bernie is going to lie awake at night agonising about it.

As I've just said on another thread there is no point bringing in reserves. We need to bring in first team players that are better than what we already have. People have mentioned Curtis Davies, Matt Kilgallon and Robert Huth all of whom are better IMO then Gorkss. Kris Commons, Martin Paterson and Michael Chopra are better than Mackie, Ephraim and Smith. Ryan Bertrand is better than Hill.

If we were to sign players like this then we'd strengthen the first team and give us plenty of options off the bench.

Agreed, let's just trust warnock and the board in Jan. After all the squad he picked out in the summer remained unbeaten in almost 20 rounds.

I said two days ago on another thread that we should be aiming higher looking at the likes of Keane, Cole etc but many just laughed me off! With West Spam on the relegation trail someone like Cole, whose not always flavour of the month over there, might be open to gentle persuasion!

If we continue to look at the rest of the championship Scotland looked good last night, and again with Ipswich struggling NW should try and turn his head. Chopra would be an option, NW would be able to control him.

We shouldn't, imho, be looking to lower divisions
22nd February away v Charlton is the 40th Anniversary of my support of QPR and my first game. Away v Chelsea 3-3 23rd Feb 1974. 40 years of pure magic!!

Comes down to budgets. Warnock didn't sign Mackie, still less Clarke, because he thought they were the best strikers in Britain - he did so because he was working within some very limited budgets. He has already made clear that Chopra will only come to us if Cardiff are prepared to virtually give him away, which unless they are completely broke seems v unlikely, particularly to their biggest rivals.

Just at a quick glance, what chance on prising Upson and Parker away from Wet Spam?
Just an out n' out striker then, which I haven't really looked at.

Warnock was granted £2.5m for Jon Walters so that gives me hope we can & will spend big.

For that money you could get a very decent striker.

I dont want it spent on a target man weve got Hulse and Helguson it must be spent on a goal poacher.
