One more thing...we've lost to two good sides at this level, both capable of beating anyone on their day. It's not like we scraped a draw at home to Preston, unlike the team some already crowned champions not too long ago.

The amount of you lot who wrote this team off at the start of the season was a huge number, yet now we're still top, we're seemingly underachieving.

      Unbelievable.

And no...this isn't 'burying my head in the sand' at all. I'm just saying it how it is.

I'm pretty certain that NW will be strengthening in Jan, so let's not act like we've just thrown it all away.

I'll be honest mate, I rarely see that with him. I do see it with Gorkss a fair bit, but certainly not with Connolly. I genuinely believe him to be a class CB.

        Can he hack the Prem?

We'll see next season, won't we.

Ok 1stly I have to agree with Benny.

Connors is a decent centre back the problem he has is he is playing alongside Gorkks and Hill. If we sign a much needed centre back then I suggest we sign one with pace. Connors actually reads the game very well and shows a decent amount of composure on the ball.

My problem with Gorkks and Hill is that they have zero sense of gravity. While these pitches in the winter are bone hard they both turn like they are wearing high heels, (I wouldn't know this but imagine its difficult).

I also think you shouldn't question fans for being concerned Benny.

Yes teams like watford and leeds are decent but I think its the level of performances that has fans very concerned. Your problem is you think fans are being negative but this is a messageboard to address issues and the last 2 results prove reasons to be concerned. You know full well we will be lucky to stay in the top 6 if we don't buck up.

The swansea game is huge IMHO as confidence seems to be shot.
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

I know where your coming from with Adel, but you can't drop our only creative player, Hill not a left back at this level,Mackie works tirelessly up and down but for me lacks a touch of quality, Connolly id stick with though he was p poor against watford, Gorkss and Hall fall into the same camp for me, i'd like Kilgallon or Curtis alongside Connolly in the heart of the defense.

if we put our hands on heart.....derby/pompey we got outta jail in terms of losses.....yes we have far far and away over achieved this season so far but now its time to shuffle the pack and deal some ace cards in the transfer window!

I disagree on the draws with those two teams. That's fighting spirit, and well deserved draws there.

I do agree we need to strengthen, but I think you're over reacting with some comments mate.

LB, CB and striker, and we're well on our way.

benj your a good lad and if you see some of my posts on other threads i fully concur with the three positions you say need strengthening....im so desperate for us to continue at the top two there is abit of over reacting but the chasing pack is closing fast!!

                    Haha.lol. What a nasty comment

                    Makes me laugh though,hehehaha.

What I dont like is the fact that Taraabt on the occasions I have seen the team on telly hasent passed to better placed players.
It really must be annoying to play alongside him on occassions like that.
I hope Warnock will involve Hogan/PVM,Smith, Helguson in his play.
It´s not rocket science to understand why the players mentioned above are showing signs of despair from time to time.
Point is that Taraabt is a better player when he passes the ball. It´s usefull practice for any player, isnt it?

My only problem with Taraabt is his reluctance to pass and that after the number of games he's played for us - haven't looked it up but it's quite a lot - it still hasn't sunk in with him when to pass and when to hold it himself and I thought that was what Warnock was supposed to being doing with him. Educating him.

Don't think he should be dropped or is a bad player, just surprised he is as frustrating as he still is given the time he's had to learn.

Facto you have really surprised me here fella.
You are one of the last on here i would of expected to have come out with a post like this.
                        Lets look at your points.
1)Taraabt. Ok he frustrates the life out of everyone at times but no-one in our division has a player like that and he has won us games that without him we wouldnt have won. If week in week out he won us games single handly he wouldnt be playing for us. Like the saying 'If you want the rainbow, you have got to put up with the rain'
2)Gorrks and Connolly. Kind of agree with you about these two, i did post something similar after the Brizzel game and got hammered for it but the lack of pace between them is shocking and will cost us at times. BUT we cant forget the unbelievable first 15-16 games when as a defence they conceded about 6 goals.
                        3) Hill. Not a great left back but the sort of player that never goes missing, rolls his sleeves up and gives 100%. I like the guy for those attribuites.
4)Mackie. When will people realise this boy doesnt play as striker so he isnt going to score 20 goals a season. Yes the goals have dried up but he still works his gonads off for the team. He certanly isnt undroppable but when he starts giving up id drop him not now when he still gives 100%.

We're still top, somewhere not many of us thought we'd be at the start of the season so lets enjoy it.

Today was Taarabt's best passing match in my opinion. He utilised his skills for the best of the team. He really rescued us when it was 1-0 as we had lots of pressure from Swansea who were the better side till he earned us the penalty which destroyed Swansea.
