  • 4 games In 9 Days

    H V swansea
    A V coventry
    A..V Norwich
    H V Bristol City

Surely the same 11 cannot play in all 4, so how would utilise the squad?

Personally I would play a slightly weaker team V bristol City and the strongest one Versus Swansea.

    What about you?

Depends on form and injuries, cant tell how your going to change the squad.

The squad is not that strong in depth to tinker with it too much.

I don't see a huge issue. Very light training, just with ball work between games. I think well see a very similar 11 start all those games. Brizzle are on the up, so I certainly wouldn't take them lightly. Strong team needed for all these fixtures, IMO.

Flat out for the win in every game. No messing around v Bristol City.
Play the reserves at Blackburn in t'cup.

Suspensions and injuries will naturally rotate the team anyway. And bound to get some weather in january.
            Of the cold variety.

lets presume, we get no injuries no-way could you play

              kenny
              Walker
              Hill
              Gorkss
              Connolly
              Smith
              Mackie
              Derry
              Faurlin
              Tarrabt
              Hulse

in all 4 games, Derry and Hill wouldn't be able to do it for starters

Walker could cover at left back with Orr resuming his right back roll. With both Buz and Mahon injuried at the moment and Rowlands seemingly out of favour, there could be a costly price to pay for not getting in quality squad players in the summer.

                  Vaggen Moen
                  Ephraim
                  Helguson
                  Hall
                  Orr
                  Rowlands
... a few others like Clarke, Cerny, Agyemang etc..

                  That's if we sign nobody.

All the other teams we play have the same fixture pile-up as us.
Same for them, and we are a fit team.

I dont think you can plan for the 4 games, you take each game as it comes and go all out to win them.
Each point is so valuable now, this division is wide open.

Well now is the time to see how this Vaagen Moen is, he'll be available from Jan 1, it's just whether Neil will want to introduce him away to Norwich or go with what he knows and wait for the Home game v Brizzie to start him.
I suppose it will all go down to how we do in the other games, fitness and injuries but I think he'll play his first at Norwich coming on as a sub.
It is a very important 9 days for us and Neil will know that.

You have to keep in mind..

...that all the other teams also have to play 4 games in 9 days. In other words we will not be meeting fresh teams.

Bristol City have Reading away, Palace at home and Cardiff at home before they travel to Loftus Road. There will be tired players, injuries and suspensions for all teams. I think we have good squad and can bring on a lot of fresh legs against Norwich and Bristol. Vaagan Moen, Clarke, Agyemang, Hulse, Ephraim, Rowlands all raring to go. It is for periods like this one has fringe players.

I think they'll all be pretty tough games and that we should take it one at a time, its becoming quite clear that this league is completely open and that on any given day, either team can win.
