Thats beside the point but anyway youre wrong. It did hit him. Dont take my word for it - go and check the replay. At least get your facts right.

Is anyone here seriously arguing that it matters whether the bottle hit anyone or not???? It was thrown and that should be enough for anyone to be unhappy about. You want sponsors for the club to bring in more money - anyone think sponsors will line up for a club that condones that behaviour??

Not condoning the incident but widening the argument. The bar staff take the tops off the bottles before handing them over.

In order to throw the bottle with any great force or direction it would have to be held by the neck and tipped upside down. Thus making any contents spill on the thrower's arm/sleeve, therefore at most it would probably be only half full and more spillage would occur in flight causing it to be practically empty before it hit anyone making it a pretty useless missile.

Isn't that the point of the bar staff removing the lids and serving plastic bottles to reduce the risk of serious injury?

Anyway, not condoning it, just saying that it is a pretty useless weapon as anyone who has been hit on the head with an empty plastic bottle can testify.

Russ, i would have to disagree with that. You can certainly hold the bottle with your fingers underneath it and throw it - holding it sort of on your shoulder (if you get what i mean). This allows the bottle to remain relatively upright and if it was half full, for instance, would leave you without much, if any, beer on you. And it also allows for the bottle to be heavier in flight and would bloody hurt if it hit you on the head.

As has been pointed out, it seems like coins were also involved. There was no sign of a bottle with the Watford player that was struck on the head. After that there's clear footage of a girl standing on the stairs, taking a small object from her hand and throwing it at their players.

the real question we need to ask is,

how do they manage to get beer pitchside whilst the games on???

                      i want to sit there

and i wont be throwing it either!!!

I've just been practising your method on my gran. She says, you're right. "It does hurt if thrown like that."

Oh, and "can I mop the beer up from her kitchen".?

If the bottle missed its target from close range sureley it must of been thrown by Helguson?
