The Bristol game was the record unbeaten from the start of the season. If we don't lose tonight we will equal the record for anytime in the season, or seasons. We went 20 unbeaten at the end of the 71/72 season, and the start of the 72.73 season I think. Next week will be the record if we don't lose tonight.

You can't base the record over two seasons, with different players from two seasons. The record was set in 1966/67 season. Just as a matter of interest, after a draw and a defeat at the start of the season, we then went 15 games unbeaten, we then lost a game and then went on to the record 20 games unbeaten.

Doesn't matter if it's over one or two season. By that logic we could only go 46 league games unbeaten. Unbeaten league games is just that, no matter when they happen. Arsenal's run of 49 league games unbeaten had to be over two seasons, as they only play 38 in one.

Records have to be like for like, otherwise there is no comparison.

To my mind the number of league games without defeat is like for like.

Either way, we are unbeaten in 19 games so far this season. That's the main point.
