Austin would clearly be a good shot at one for the future. Though I suspect his recent form may mean he isn't as cheap as he might have been. Warnock won't have been alone in spotting his run. Don't know about Mossison tbh

But I am only impressed by this news if this shows us building up options and assets for the future, not if they are offered as the surety of our continued progress this year. These could be plans C or D for this year at best. Like RebelR hinted at, we need some proven class to mix in amongst plans A & B to push on this year. Now's not the time to be blooding new and unproven talent imo. Using them this year would be too high risk for my comfort given how well it is going. But happy to have such a prospect as Austin in the ranks.

Oh dear that makes him not very quick indeed but in his defence, sometimes playing CB is always about pace( Alan Mc, Frank Mc,Tony Adams etc, its about positional sense as well.

The problem is that Macca had players like Paul Parker and Darren Peacock playing alongside him. I loved Big macca but you need 1 of your centre backs to have pace. Neither Connors or Gorkks have the pace to get an extremely slow player out of trouble. Unless he reads the game like Tony Adams then I don't like the sound of this signing. We should look for good premiership players. Not saying it was these 2 players fault but they lost to Crawley in the fa cup so swindon players don't excite me.
