no1 legend, happy birthday Sir Les.

You are the reason I support QPR with so much passion.
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

absolute legend... i hold him higher than stan, rodney or any other qpr player.

i still believe half the reason we are down here is because he was sold.
Soldier: "im on reconnaissance sir.. im looking for our camouflage expert.. have you seen him?"
        Lovejoy: "No?!"
Soldier: "GOD DAMNIT THAT GUYS GOOD!"

The only way he is higher than Stan is because he is taller, you obviosly never saw Stanley play, well either that or you believe that just scoring goals makes someone good.

Anyway Happy Birthday to Sir Les.

Thats your opinion but your find many people are split. My dad is older generation and he also thinks Sir Les.

Oh and he had Gerry Francis above stan.

Lets face it the guy kept us in the premiership.

Forget the fact we need a 20 goal a season striker he was a 30 goal a season striker. I still think goal scorers are more important but I think you are underestimating Sir les. Unbelieveable athlete.

It's the same old give a player of yesterday a lighter ball, supplements, healthy diet for today's game and see how he would compare versus see how players like Sir Les would have played in the mud and with a heavier ball etc. It's so hard to compare people/players but they still do it. (Look at the Busby babes v Fergies lot for example, one that always crops up). As you say we all have different opinions.

I would like to comment on this statement but I will resist as this is a thread wishing Les happy birthday, happy birthday sir.

Hell I can't resist, are you nuts???????

                    Rodney
                    Gerry
                    Phil
                    Dave
                    STAN THE MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dude if Les had just a touch of the pure ball skill Stan had, he would have been sold for 60m not the 6m we got for him.
                    Kept the faith!

I agree too, the team of 75-76 was a fantastic team. In todays league they would be absolutely awesome. I love Sir Les but the likes of Stan and Rodney are legends not only for what they did on the pitch for us but what they do now for us.....support the team. Sir Les supports and works now for the Spurs.

Weareqpr you are entitled to an opinion but you are obviously too young.
I blew a lot on vodka and tonic, gambling and fags. Looking back, I think I overdid it on the tonic. - The one and only Stanley Bowles
