  • Robbie Keane

Says in the sun today turned down a loan move to leicester because he wants a permanent move in january. Have we got any chance in signing him as we have a good chance in giving him a return to the premier league in 6 months time ,hes able to stay in london and well have the money to pay his wages and 1st team football.

would be the best signing we could possibly make imho.
the thing about him is he scores, and would score a goal a game for the rest of the season to enusre promotion, and then when we were up he would carry on getting goals for us which at the moment we have no forward who could ever score in the top flight.

Oh please can we stop all this nonsense. Not having a direct pop at you QPR4EVE89 but he will never drop a division in a million years. Keane is a top player who could possibly walk into a top 8 Premier League side. We couldn't afford his wages never mind paying the type of figure involved to bring him to the club. If people think we'll sign him then they are truely mad. Talk about trying to run before you can walk.

Keane will end up at somewhere like Villa, Newcastle or Celtic.

Well he did go to Celtic on-loan and that is as good as dropping a division.
          Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
          And many more mistakes

LES FERDINAND, IT'S TIME TO GO

Oh give over. Please tell me you're not another one of these cuckoo fans. FFS Celtic are a bigger CLUB than SPURS where he's at. Champions League football pretty much every season, yeah its a micky mouse league but Celtic are probably the 2nd biggest side in GB and in the top 5 most supported sides in the WORLD. Please don't be stupid!

Dazzers right on this one, anyone who thinks we can/will sign Robbie Keane in January needs to check themselves into a nut house.

quality GTP and he is right surely we should be looking at players of his level otherwise we won't stay up.
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

simple answer to this... not debating whether Keane is quality or not, but he must be on 60k a week at Spurs, he wont take a drop and we wont pay that.
                    Problem solved.

                      No, not quality GTP.

The original post states 'in January'. We would have no chance of signing him whilst still in the Championship, as one we couldn't afford the fee, two we couldn't afford his wages, and three even if we could do numbers one and two, he wouldn't drop down a league.

If we went up, and he's still at Spurs and unhappy, then MAYBE it would be realistic.

You can argue all you want against it, but that is a FACT.

But a loan where we pay 40% of his wages and spurs pay the remainder might be possible. I still think there will be tackers for him as I would be suprised if no premiership club comes in for him but if thats the case we might have a chance.

we are going to have to break all time records in transfer fees and wage structures when we go up, why not break one now and ensure that when we get up we are going to have a bloody good chance of staying up there. somethings got to happen, and if we stick with the calibre of signings we are used to (adel excepted), then its going to be a pointless and horrible season in the premiership.
these owners are uber rich and uber clever business men, so never under estimate the changes that could happen if and when they realise next year is premiership year.

G.T.P. It's not about being negative. Like I said learn to walk before we can run. FACTS speak for themselves. If we was going to spend mega bucks it would of happened before now. ROBBIE KEANE is too good for the CHAMPIONSHIP sod all this Bellend to Cardiff. We need proven players for this division to maintain what we have and to get us out of this division. We can show our ambitions at the end of the season WHEN and IF WE GET PROMOTED.

He won't drop a division fella. Robbie aint stupid. Bellend only did it as a 'up yours sign' to Money bags Man City.
