  • I'm glad Hull can be so optimistic about Saturday!

We're now got 15" of snow and can't get out of our road. Even if the match IS on, I fear we still won't be able to get out of our road to get there!
If it goes ahead, give them a cheer from us!
Anyone heard any more about the chance of the game going ahead?

I'm sorry but I managed to get into work. Not a pop at you swanley but why do we all go over the top and act like the world has stopped. I drove to work and yes side roads are bad but you just need to take it steady. I won't be paying people that have not made an effort to come in. I will allow people to leave early and reward those that did make an effort. Countrys like Germany etc must think we are pathetic.
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

Sorry I did go off topic but needed to get that off my chest.

Regarding the game I wouldn't be to disappointed if it was called off. We would have an extra game after jan where we would be able to add a couple of class players.

Thats probably because your not in the east lime me and swanley.****ing shed loads of snow out here,no gritters down country roads.Took me 1hr 30 mins 2 days ago to go 40 foot in my village as everywhere was snarled up.Gave up trying to get my youngest to school that day.Yday went to get hair cut.Went down side road in Chelmsford and see a delivery driver go horizontal about 4 ft in the air and smash his nut open all over the rd.I stopped and put a scarf round his head and called ambulance and his firm.****ing lethal out here. And its still snowing.

I live in a cul-de-sac which has a slope at the bottom and is now blocked by vehicles which could not get up the slope and have been abandoned.

We have no buses running and the local taxis are now virtually at a standstill. My school is closed anyway, but if it was open, I live 8 miles away and have been told not to try walking in along the A2 or the semi-rural roads which link Swanley to anywhere else.
This area of North West Kent seems to be the hardest hit -- looking at the pictures and various jamcams a lot, lot harder than west or north of London.

With all due respect, it's not a case of not wanting to drive on bad side roads (which I did try to do on Tuesday, until school called me and told me to turn back), they are totally impassable due to the depth of snow and abandoned cars.
"Take it steady" -- I'd be lucky.
If I could get out, my priority would be to try and get a Ventolin inhaler for my son, as his has run out -- a big worry as an ambulance would now not get up our road if he has a bad asthma attack.

So Hull? No chance as it stands.

Oh right fair play I guess the east has been hit much harder.

Not having a pop at those I was reffering to people in the guildford area that have has about 8 inches.

              Terrible, isn't it?
This side of London where we are has certainly been harder hit than the other side.
As you say, no gritters, not even, it would seem, on the main road through Swanley as the buses have given up for now too.

Couldn't believe opening up my curtains to see more snow had fallen in Chelmsford over night. -sighs- I'm getting sick of it now. Loved it at first though!

Hey weareqpr12, don't you get any snow days either? What with a decent amount of leave entitlement, we get 15 days snow leave (or bad weather leave too)

I just manage my branch which is a small place. We are a sister company of the main branch. I run it over here and I like to lead by example. I don't agree with people making excuses unless they are east of london and where its been hit bad.

She loves being an essex girl.

To be fair its days like this that I need a bit of skirt walking around the office.

I'd pay you a better wage than nursing pays and all you would need to do it make tea and wear very little.

We only employ fat middle age women.
