agree with Ric - Roc defo a no brainer - Rowlands is sadly past his best - Ambrose under Warno tuition/guidance would be a far better proposition - but still feel we should aim higher as we seek to consolidate our Prem ambitions

Think the more interesting poll would be Watson or Ambrose? Whilst many appreciate what Rowlands has done for us as a player, trying to rate a guy who has suffered from injury and not played for a while against a player who reached a peak last season is hardly a fair comparison.
Much as I love Rowly, this poll - which is what this is in effect - can only have one answer.
Before his injury Rowlands was our captain, one of our better players and you write him off with a blink of an eye and would replace him with a player who has only done well at a Poor level at Crystal Palace.
None of us have seen Rowlands play at great length since his injury, yet you write him off?
I did post about Rowlands doing things that didn't wash with the management team at QPR the other week but you shot me down Pete. Fact is this is the clubs way of paving a gracious exit with the closing line 'the club would like to place on record a big thank you to Martin Rowlands for his service'. What Vine did never washed with Warnock and the same has happened with Rowlands. Warnock's in charge end of - get use to it of f**k off is the attitude! We could move all that aside though and get back to reality. The real fact is he isn't good enough to get into the current side. Age also isn't on his side either and Warnock has other targets who he feels would be better placed to take us forward. Football moves at a fast pace. Missing a season can often end careers, we've seen this so many times. Rowlands has been probably given the chance behind the scenes but has lived up to expectation so therefore we must move on. If clubs didn't do this then they'd be left with so much dead wood.
As for your comments about writing players off with the blink of an eye... Where do you actually think Rowlands will fit into our current squad Pete? At best I put him on the bench, he's no better than that. He's been out for almost a year and we've strengthened in his absence and are a better side without him. He has nothing more to offer up than what's in our current team so what do you expect Warnock to do? That's life as a footballer. We are top of the league and flying high. My only beef with what you've said Pete is are you questioning our managers judgement in our playing staff and indicating you feel he is not doing a good enough job? I just love your comparisom comment regarding us swapping him with a player who is playing at a poor level e.g. Crystal Palace. Yet wasn't that where Derry and Hill come from? So are you also saying then you'd swap Rowlands for Derry at the minute because where they come from?
Don't mean this to sound aggressive in any way Pete. Just some questions I'd like to hear your responses on?
However, he has sustained quite a number of injury's and hasn't obviously played for quite some time, so although unproven, it would probably be fair to guess that right now Ambrose > Rowlands.
Big part of me would really hate to see Rowland's go though. Always thought he was a great player for us.
My memory is shocking but wasn't it at the point Rowly got injured under Magilton that we suddenly nose-dived? As I say, could be wrong.

THIS IS THE PROBLEM. ROWLAND's is no longer in his PRIME ANYMORE!
I don't mind opinions, just I think yours are sometimes ******ks.
Of course rowlands is good enough for this squad, I say again if Faurlin or Derry get injured than Rowlands would be the best player to fill their boots, not Connolly, Mahon or Hogan.
He had a horrendous injury, twice and just like Buzsacky he will back. Dazzer people like you were writing players like Derry off before they even arrived, so forgive me If I don't take too much of your comments seriously now

Warnock has decided for whatever reason Connolly was a better midfielder option against Preston, but I feel that was more to accomodate Fitz Hall who the gaffer rates highly, unlike most fans. Enough so, to make him captain at the start of the season
