It is sad but true, that Derry and Faurlin are too good to drop, and, even when Derry was suspended, NW thought Connolly would do a better job than Rowly.
It is always a shame when long-standing players get left behind as we move on, and there's no need for the brutal tones of some of the posts on here.
If Rowly is finished with us, we could at least thank him for the service he did give -- even if his relationship with the fans seems to have gone askew in the past season.
Good news to hear that there's a special game for Cook to have a run-out, especially if he then pops up on the bench Boxing Day. NW wouldn't give him a chance unless he thought he will be an asset to us.Faurlin is my hero!!! Love him!!! #########

But if Derry or Faurlin get injured he is the next best person to step in. FACT.
He is better than Mahon, and Leigterwood has been sent out on loan.
Was very surprised that Connolly played there for the Preston game, but he did a good job there.
Buz can play there, but is injured.
Hogan is too lightweight for the middle.First game: Arsenal vs Queen's Park Rangers at Highbury, Saturday 17th November 1984.

Shame if true. Always been a great fan of Rowly and when I think of him I always think of our promotion in Sheffield! What a day that was.
Unfortuntley his relationship with the fans has strained a little lately with the boo's and him dragging the players off the pitch at the end of a match. Shame it looks like he wont make 10 years here but I suppose IN WARNOCK WE TRUSTNow, Then, Forever[CENTER]QPR-Football League CHAMPIONS

We don't have natural left foooted crosser of a ball, like Cook. We haev hulse and Helguson who I would imagine would love to be on the end his crosses, if/when Mackie or Smith get injured
We don't have anyone else who could replace Faurlin in the middle when he gets 5 bookings or Derry gets injured, other than Rowlands.
Some of you need a reality check.
So you would have Hogan in the middle or Mahon over Rowlands.
Its a squad that will get us up, not a team
I was scatching my big bald head trying to work out what this lot were on about before you came in.
He's the best replacement for Derry (who as you said will get injured and or suspended) or Faulin who will get suspended and/or injured.
Buzz too lightweight to cover there against good strong sides and we need Rowly to offer that option....
His effort has NEVER been in question for me!
Also, Cookie again is an OPTION we need to have as a left winger crossing with a left foot.
Anyone prefer Clark up there over a fit Cookie??? Come on!
Guys, its about OPTIPONS!! We're in November, its during and post christmas when squads bcome important due to fatigue/injuriies and accumulated cards meaning suspensions.
Saying either of then are 'finished at QPR' is ridiculous.

Rowlands isn't finished due to his ability. As I understand it, similar to Dazzer - he went whining to Paladini moaning that he wasn't being picked behind Warnock's back. Warnock doesn't tolerate that level of b0ll0cks so it's bye bye....and Rowlands has lost huge numbers of supporters by behaving like a petulant kid on previous occasions.
Cook hasn't been fully fit for the best part of 18 months - not a good omen. Personally I very much doubt he has a future here due to these persistent injuries. Great lad, decent player on his day - personally think he's shot though.

I posted this from the ground just after I was told this last week too.

I'm normally one for rumours, but some of you must make it up as you go along
I would imagine Rowlands was disappointed that Connolly got the nod in the midfield against Preston, but reality is he has suffered a very bad injury and unlike previous seasons we don't have to rush them back.
he is professional enough to know that his time will come, as so many on here think we will go the whole season without any injuries, which is not the case.
Warnock felt it was better to have attacking options on the bench, its that simple.ALL BEST BANTER AND ALL THE LATEST FROM QPR.

Rowlands has been a bloody good player for us over the years and as far as I could see (and i have seen almost every game he has played for us) he NEVER gave less than 100% which considering the **** he had round him on and off the pitch some times is admirable.
He is still a big big asset to our squad even if you think he isnt quite first 11 anymore he can play effectively right across the middle and also pretty decent at right back.
don't know about the politics but if its true that he is no longer wanted by QPR then expect him to be going up to Blackpool rather than elsewhere in the championship.its New Era number 8 i tell thee, bring on the fireworks

Is that the sound of a stable door I can hear closing?
Come back Dobbin, come back........!
But seriously, people hear different rumours from different sources. Unless you're Rowlands or Warnock, I suspect no-one will know the full story.Last edited by Guest; 29-11-2010, 03:31 PM.
