more exiting than bowles and marsh,sweat pouring from his brow
it was all too fantastic to look back on it now
but that drum was bashed with such force
it was to change the historic course

at that time we never had a team
had no money and had run out of steam
but somewhere was petes pounding heart
it was worth a goal start

but the idiots of society,hailed petes eforts as all in vain
i watched him lose all his hair under the strain
so now theres not a chance,that we would hear those drumbeats
its far too comfortable on the commmentators seats
