  • Who Is More Likely To Hold Onto The Better Players This January?

Cardiff City must be at risk from losing Boothroyd and maybe someone else.
Swansea have one or two players that could be be of interest and likewise we must have players attracting interest from the premiership.

Who is more likely to keep hold of the better players and if we did sell, which ones would not neccesarily weaken us?

(BY THE WAY I KNOW OF NO PLAYER LEAVING, But with teams going well its of obvious interest to discuss)

I would say us without a doubt.

      Reading through various Cardiff message boards their seems to be quite a bit of discontent regarding certain matters, for example;

Bellamy not performing & a possible fall out with DJ

Bothroyd a transfer target for a prem club

Chopra's form has dipped since Bellamy's arrival & has put on weight.

On the other side of the fence everything is rosy down at QPR, yes a bid for Taarabt in my opinion is definitely going to happen in January but we will not sell in a million years.

So the answer to you're question is we are in the better position to keep our players. Things have never been better.

This is a question of test for our board. If they are serious - I mean actually serious and no more of this blowing smoke out of their ####'s, Champions League blah blah blah tripe. They could demand no one leaves until the end of the season. I doubt Real Madrid or a club of that stature will come in for Taarabt and in my opinion he is the only player we must not lose.

I thought Adel had a clause in his contract that would let him leave for the Premiership if he so desired?

So do I mate but really cannot see it happening.

At first (and I'm not saying its still not the case now) I used to think this kid will / could get his head turned so easily, but now we are over a third way through the season and the guy is a hero to us, he respects Warnock, he knows how much the fans love him, he's playing in a successful team on course for the Premiership & by all accounts Pete said on here & respected poster Walkonby told me with his own mouth that the fella is a really really nice guy, humble & shy.

What we see on the pitch with his brash attitude and what not seems a million miles away from the man off it & that will count for a lot if someone comes knocking.

Warnock will never sanction a move so if it was to happen the board will be in for a heck of a time.

But if I was a betting man personally I would say Tarbs knows he's onto a good thing here.

Dunno mate, that's never been documented has it? I know their was rumours but all I know according to the offy is that he signed a 3 year contract. Maybe he has a clause most players have these days.

I just don't think he will bolt 6 months after signing & being the team captain. Personal opinion only of course.

He'd be mad to leave to be honest...He can play in the prem next year as a pivotal part of our team or as an "option" for one of the current Premiership crop.

If Mancini gets the sack then a new manager could want Bellamy back at Man City.

Bothroyd I think will wait until the summer when he can go somewhere on a Bosman and make a packet.
First game: Arsenal vs Queen's Park Rangers at Highbury, Saturday 17th November 1984.

Cardiff will be fine - Chopra is in India in January, Bellamy is a season long loan & Bothroyd is running down his contract

Swansea only have Scott Sinclair and won't have to sell him

We are most at risk with Taarabt and Faurlin attracting a lot of interest - if we got a decent offer of cash upfront it'd be very hard for the board to turn down

Totally agree mate. He seems like the kind of character who wants to be 'number 1' and as we speak he is exactly that. Like you say why go elsewhere? Ok if we were mid table I could see it but not top & looking very good.

But according to someone on here a while back possibly Nodge his advisor is meant to be hard work. So that could be a problem.

cant see any premiership manager wanting taraabt. and doubt there would be many able to afford him in and a few wouldnt want him in the championship either.
hes going nowhere for a while imho.

Realistically the board would have to give VERY serious consideration to a bid in the region of £2.5-3m CASH.....bar blackpool any Prem club could afford that
