Blackpool are doing alright so far with a small capacity stadium:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bloomfield_Road

Let's get to the Premiership first before we worry too much about capacity!

As said before, we got 30,000 plus in the '70's.
How many fans don't come currently due to the discomfort of the current stadium, and how many more will come to a shiny new one and prem football. - I think we would atract almost DOUBLE the current capacity.

Try watching a Wigan game if you want to see an empty prem stadium.

When we struggle in the bottom half of the table a 30,000 stadium suddenly don't look so clever in the prem.

        And we will struggle.

oh i get it, he was adding up the average of every single year of the 70's together as one big total.

I was born in the '70s so am not too sure if we got many, if any, 30,000+ crowds, but if you look at the averages it seems unlikely.

As attendances go, we are poorly supported, but we all know that.

let's take one step at the time. We could get relegated this season.

                      During 74 - 77 the average was 21 - 24,000.
Biggest was over 35,000 vs Leeds Utd in 1974.
OK, so 'regularly' over 30,000 is stretching it a bit, so I'll re-phrase to 'a few times' which would be more accurate. :sorry: Everyone standing, it must of been like a big group hug.

This is where I got it from, para 9
Queens Park Rangers, former top flight inhabitants, are hellbent on crashing the Premier League party next season. And, led by experienced manager Neil Warnock, are starting to look like strong bets to do just that.

Still stand by the fact, we get promoted and we would fill the 18,000 and the board would have to give big consideration to building on Ellerslie Road, because that capacity will not be enough.

I remember the Leicester cup game 30,000+ and that was pretty scary, how we did'nt have a Hillsborough was due to a bit more luck than judgment and exiting the loft end was a it of a squeeze
I must away now, I can no longer tarry

what does ER hold compared to SAR?

Due to buit up nature and proximity of housing - planning permission could be tricky. Especially as there are other big clubs nearby. Clubs tend to get special treatment oif they are the only one in the area/city.

Times have changed - visitors have changed - corporate market has changed. We'd easily average 25k in the Prem
