Why would Wigan let him go? I just don't see them letting him go out on loan.
I blew a lot on vodka and tonic, gambling and fags. Looking back, I think I overdid it on the tonic. - The one and only Stanley Bowles

He hasn't played since 2nd October - do we know if he is even fit?

Almost definitely coming on a permanent deal in January.

If Neil wants him then sign him. Irrelvant if he's fit sirpie, Neil knows him better than us and knows what he offers.
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

I'm just questioning if he is fit or not and not his ability. Great player who we didn't see the best of because of the way he was managed but if he's out injured for X weeks or months then why sign him or a short term loan which is all we can do until January. If he is fit (not match fit) then go get him but if there is any doubt in his fitness then why sign him now?

Think that's excellent news. Squad starting to have some real strength in depth for the run in

He's not played since October - because he's injured or Martinez doesn't select him? Not sure either way myself - but if he is fit and not selected he sure isn't going to be match fit. If Nodge is right and we are buying him in January - then get him loaned in right now so Warnock can start working on his fitness - rather than paying out in Jan and then waiting 6 weeks or so for him to be up tp speed?

I'd be more than happy to get Watson in on a perminant. Don't let his loan spell fool you...Ben is a marvelous player.

Agree he is a very good player than Neil will get the best out of.

Thanks Nodge - wil he come on loan first?

What would encourage me about Watson signing is that it would show the club is thinking of upping the quality of the squad for next season. Derry has been outstanding and a revelation for the vast majority of games he has played and in many ways my player of the season so far but realistically if we were to get promoted and he was a year older against much faster and better players, is he going to be in the starting 11?

If he joins then I hope I'm proved wrong and warnock gets the best out of him. Cause while he was on loan he was woeful says a lot when we were a better team when he got sent of against reading.
But will give him the benifit lot of crap going on when he was here last season

i swear i read somewhere when watson was in his prime under warnock at palace.. he was played in a exact formation we have now. ben played where adel does for that part of his palace career scoring countless goals.
