  • Taarabt - clearly not a players favourite

Did anyone else notice how when Taarabt scored his second yesterday the players were very slow to respond with the congratulations, hugging and kissing etc and even then it looked like an awkward moment for some of them.
Certainly not the reaction from fellow team mates you would expect to see when a goal of that calibre has just been scored.
I think it was Mackie who simply turned and went to the half way line and waited for the restart without even an acknowledgement to Taarabt. And he wasn't the only one.

I sit in that corner of South Africa and lower loft and it seemed clear to me by the reaction, or lack of it in some cases that Taarabt isn't flavour of the month with some of them.

I wonder how much it had to do with the chance he wasted at 2 nil when having done the hard work and trickery he got close to goal and with 3 Rangers players lined up on the 6 yard box screaming for the ball for a simple side foot - goal, he chose to try and beat the keeper and a defender at the near post and messed it up when it was easier to pass and allow someone else a goal.

I heard an interview with Warnock recently and he said of Taarabt - "the other players tollerate him".

I have to admit I am not his greatest fan but I know quality when I see it and in the 35 years I have been going to Loftus road he is easily one of the most skillful and talented players I have seen wear the hoops.
I just hope that his lack of a team ethic and undoubted arrogance doesn't cause disharmony and a divided camp amoungst the rest of the squad, like it clearly has with the fans, in what could be our most important season for 15 years.

That said, I hope he has another one of them 30 yard rockets in his locker for the pile of **** we play Saturday.

I agree 100% but it's a problem the every other team in division would kill for.

I bet he is incredibly frustrating for other players and I notice mackie have a right go at him, after he didn't square it to him.

The way, I see it is Tarrabt made the chance in the first place and I would have shot myself in that situation. Mackie himself has a great chance in the first half and fluffed it, by trying to slide the ball in. I am sure Mackie will get more goals, but he should look at who set them for him in the first place.

Saying that, think the players are big enough to get on with it. I just hope Tarrabt in front of the SKY cameras again against Watford doesn't go showboating and missing too much.

We would not be top without Tarrabt, so whilst he is frustrating as hell sometimes, well worth the entrance fee just to see him play.

your spot on.. i think in all honesty it takes a strong manager to keep the team behind a player like adel.. who is brilliant but frustrating and only playing for himself.

this is the difference between a good manager and a average one. magilton vs warnock.. warnock gets his players playing for him.. magilton couldnt get that.

Just before half time he whipped in a lovely ball for Hulse who in turn didn't acknowledge Tarbs for the ball & Adel was cursing for the next 2 mins. Then just before the HT whistle went he could of played someone in down the wing but appeared to just kick it out. Connolly went straight over & had words I can only imagine were calm down.

Anyway who cares he's the best player in the division.

If they want to go up they need to deal with it. He will be the differance this year between top 2 and struggling to make 6th. I make no bones about saying, his is joint top scorer, he is top with assists and when he plays well we play well. I love Mackie for commitment and work rate, but he has had his chances over the last few games to turn draws into wins and he has missed. Thats life, but when Adel has made most of them, expect him to be frustrated and to shoot instead, because he will feel he has a better chance even though Mackie or another collegue is in a better place.

See that swell, and to be fair there was a point when Adel shot instead of crossing and hulse and Mackie went spastic, Adel held his hand up and tried to apologise for a good minute only to be ignored.
Think it was more noticed with Derry out missed his leadership

i reckon every single one of them hates him on a personal level as well as the failing to pass at times reasons.

Yea I saw that. Not being funny I don't blame Adel for having a shot considering Mackie is missing sitters & wanting 2 touches every time rather than just hit balls. Mackie was giving him ear ache for the next 5 mins.

Here's my take. The players really don't give two hoots about what he does on the pitch. Everytime we take 3points their weekly wedge gets a little bit heavier. He may be frustrating on the pitch at times by they all know he's magical and almost a freak of nature with some of the things he can do. They'd rather he was on our side than us playing against him. He'll also get pulled to the side and told behind closed doors. These are professional footballers we are talking about not 7 year olds. I'm sure they'll take his tantrums with a pinch of salt if he keeps playing the way he is until the end of the season.

Mackie whilst not running to him after his second clearly stood on the half way line and applauded him back. One of those situations where you can understand both Adel for trying to score and Mackie for demanding ths pass.

Behind closed doors??????????? Hulse and Makie where tearing him a new one yesterday, I think the venom in the third goal said it all, Hulse had some front, he missed a sitter 2-3 yrds out in the second half.
                              Kept the faith!
