Did anyone else notice how when Taarabt scored his second yesterday the players were very slow to respond with the congratulations, hugging and kissing etc and even then it looked like an awkward moment for some of them.
Certainly not the reaction from fellow team mates you would expect to see when a goal of that calibre has just been scored.
I think it was Mackie who simply turned and went to the half way line and waited for the restart without even an acknowledgement to Taarabt. And he wasn't the only one.
I sit in that corner of South Africa and lower loft and it seemed clear to me by the reaction, or lack of it in some cases that Taarabt isn't flavour of the month with some of them.
I wonder how much it had to do with the chance he wasted at 2 nil when having done the hard work and trickery he got close to goal and with 3 Rangers players lined up on the 6 yard box screaming for the ball for a simple side foot - goal, he chose to try and beat the keeper and a defender at the near post and messed it up when it was easier to pass and allow someone else a goal.
I heard an interview with Warnock recently and he said of Taarabt - "the other players tollerate him".
I have to admit I am not his greatest fan but I know quality when I see it and in the 35 years I have been going to Loftus road he is easily one of the most skillful and talented players I have seen wear the hoops.
I just hope that his lack of a team ethic and undoubted arrogance doesn't cause disharmony and a divided camp amoungst the rest of the squad, like it clearly has with the fans, in what could be our most important season for 15 years.
That said, I hope he has another one of them 30 yard rockets in his locker for the pile of **** we play Saturday.
